Sold! Impressing black Raku tea bowl of the Raku family, made and signed by the 10th Kichizaemon Tan-Nyu.

The signed box is labeled “10th generation”, which means Tan-nyu (1795-1854). The reverse side of the lid has an appraisal of the grand tea master of Omoto-Senke.

Sold! Little distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay during the Edo Period with strong black ink glaze and a rarely seen patina.

The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical black iron oxide glaze inside and outside. The chawan has a very rare 'decoration' with hanging persimmons (hoshikaki) scratched into the engobe and a tea room window inside and a plum blossom painted under the clear glaze...

A well potted bowl in Chrysanthemum shape and glazed with a pale Qingbai glaze. Southern Song Dynasty ( 1127 - 1279 ) Diameter : 11,9 cm. H : 4,5 cm. Condition : Very nice condition with one nearly invisible hairline that actually seems to be quite insignificant because despite this hairline the bowl has a nice ping tone when tapped. ( Please look the last enlargement ).

This is hemp Umakake used in Iwate for Edo period. As for this, hemp is spun by hand and is thick. This item is a state of the most common damage about hemp Umakake. When Umakake is used many times, damage increases. And the hemp added to a good texture when use and washing were repeated many times. The good-quality natural indigo plant becomes the color such as this item...

Beautiful emerald green Peking glass bowl with scalloped edge. Dates circa 1900 and measures 5" across by 2.5" high.

A lovely Japanese porcelain Imari bowl with 2 ho-ho birds in the center symbolizing yin yang. Two more elaborate birds are painted on the inside panels. Unusual to find a decagonal bowl, it is in excellent antique condition with expected wear to the gold trim on the rim. Measures 7" (17.8 cm) across by 3" (7.6 cm) high. Signed on bottom. Dates 1700

A finely moulded Arita dish the upper third painted with a simple landscape containing a flowering Japanese Apricot, ume, symbolic of Winter partially “obscured” by the rim of the dish and Bell flowers, kikyo, Gentian, symbolic of Autumn. The remaining lower portion decorated with a stencilled, katagami, brocade pattern of hexagonal diaper with florets. The edge of the dish has a thickly applied dark iron brown glaze...

This is decoration cloth used in Iwate for Edo period. This is dyed in indigo plant, black, Bengara- color. Hemp thread is spun by hand and this is thick. The back side is dyed into this with a natural indigo plant. This is cloth for ceremonies of the celebration. This has few stains, but there is not the damage. The state is complete. Size 542cmx 25cm (214 "x 9.8")

This is a 19th century, excellently hand-carved Netsuke depicting a very surprised Rat Catcher, who is standing on one foot, while holding the tale of a rat that is crawling on his back. Another rat is crawling on the floor , near his foot. Outstanding detail and expression, as well as a two-tone patina. Unsigned. Netsuke measures 1.10 inches (2.8cm) wide, and 2.78 inches (7.1cm) tall.

This is an exceptional Imperial, from the Jingdezhen Kilns, Family Rose Porcelain Snuff Bottle of circular form, with round neck, decorated on both sides in familie rose enamels with a large Katydid over a grass field, over a pure white background.
