Qing light colored celadon, crackle glaze plate circa 18th century. This has a filled chip with gold leaf. Nice cracquelure. The original owner had incised their name on the glaze, which I have highlighted with a bit of baby powder. D: 22.7cm/8.9in and H: 4.3cm/1.7in.

Subtle nephrite “pebble” jade stone with original russet skin highlights, from Xinjiang. It has been polished on one side to achieve symmetry but other then that this is the original natural shape. A pair of silver bowls with great potential for repairing, Sasanian, c. 3td.-6th. century AD.

Lot includes a hammered bowl with fine decoration in repousé and a larger crack and loss, plus another hammered bowl without decor with a small crack and loss. Both bowls are hammered in rather thin silver and uncleaned with some green encrustation.

A nice lot that can be much more valuable when finely restored!

Decorated with molded patterns of scrolled flowers, "shou"(longevity) and "Chinese coins"(wealthy) symbols. Condition: Two chip repairs on shoulder; normal wear. A rare Japanese porcelain water dropper in the form of a cat. The cat is covered in an overall Pink glaze. The dropper measures about 2 3/4" long x 2" high, and is in perfect condition. An unusual dish of mokkogata “melon” form decorated with a central motif of Tojin, Chinese or possibly Korean or Manchu figures in a Temple landscape with Hexagonal panels depicting Chinese boys playing, “karako kigi-zu” set against a ground of tama, pearls, and fronds. This is a very rare projectile point made from a stingray barb about 1000AD. It is 6 1/4 long. It was found in the Pacific Islands. It is translucent and very sharp. There is no damage or restoration. It has obvious rework. It is from the Dr. Raymond Thomas collection. I have only seen two of these in all my years of collecting. The other one was one of my most viewed artifacts on this site.

Dochugi made of kudzu fiber for wefts and cotton yarn for warps. Dochugi is a kind of haori worn over kimono and kudzu-fu one is worn in summer. Kudzufu has been produced mainly in Kakegawa in Shizuoka prefecture since 13th century. It was used for hakama (pants), kamishimo and dochugi. The collar and one of straps of this dochugi are replaced. straps have damages and several pin holes in the back and a cut (3cm) in front. It has a slit for a sword in the left side...

A pair of interesting early bronze opium weights of Arakan, Burma, made just after Shan occupation in the late 18th. cent.

Hamsa birds with one spike in the manor of the Shan weights from 1770s-. As typical for these attractive weights, they are made in a rather crude provincial style to cover the need for weights used as currency. Also note the round or semicircular bases.

Single 19th century menuki - Japanese sword fitting - depicting a twisting dragon clutching a Precious Gem in its claws. Great design and detailing, crisp work with gilding, beautiful patina. Length 1 5/8 inches.

19th century lacquer ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved in medium relief with various auspicious objects - a drum, a magic collar and a sword in fur scabbard. Material for the piece is created by layering differently colored lacquer, so the sides of incisions show those differently colored layers. Wonderful work, beautiful design, metal liner to the central hole. Height 3/4 inches.

18th century Chinese toggle (similar in function to netsuke) carved out of boxwood in a shape of a monkey on a base, its face almost human, its mouth open. Very beautifully worn charming piece, patina consistent with age. Could have been used as a small brush rest. Very nice fingering piece, as well as an object for a scholar’s desk. Height 1 9/16 inches.

A Fukagawa eight and 3/8 inch salad plate. Iris dcoration from Chuji Fukagawa's own 19th century design book. Blue underglaze and red, yellow and gold overglaze enamel decoration including random butterflys. Mt. Fuji mark in underglaze blue inside the foot ring. Late Meiji or early Taisho. Good condition. Chinese Famille Jaune porcelain ginger Jar, 8 1/4" high, 8 1/4" wide-widest part, 3 3/4" diameter-top rim, 6 3/4" diameter-bottom rim, Ca. later part of 1800's, Thick Polychrome overglaze design of Peony flowers and vines on the entire body with Chinese Character within four(4) round Cartoches. Star crack on the bottom, and stained over the years, scratch on the glaze on the raised decorated area.
