Japanese Sumida Gawa lidded sake pot or teapot with brown, blue, cream, and pale gray flambé glaze coating dripping down the exterior of the pottery surface. Two applied children in high relief are on the side. A glazed white plaque with a Ban-ni mark in underglaze blue is on the back. 6” diameter x 3" high. Early 20th century. The Zhuang are one of the larger of the Chinese Ethnic Minority groups. This is a rare old baby carrier from Yunnan Province. Because silk was not readily available in the rural areas, the use of silk as the background fabric indicates that this carrier came from a wealthy family. The central panel uses several colors of fabric appliqued into a large stylized lotus flower. Silk thread is used for the delicate satin stitched embroidery of butterflies and flowers...

This Chinese pinafore style garment would have been worn by a small girl child of the Dong ethnic minority in Shui Kou. Fabric is handwoven from cotton fiber, hand stitched with intricate decorative applique work and hand woven snowflake pattern ribbon accents the border. No rips, no tears, and no holes...but this piece is old and has been worn and is a bit "dirty".... and still has its original ties. It is 14 inches wide and 21 inches long...great ethnographic textile for framing.

Fine Japanese wooden netsuke depicting Daikoku with a cat resting on his lucky sack; very fine carving throughout; deep himatoshi on the base; very good condition

This nice Japanese carved ivory Okimono group is an early 20th century piece. The base is 9” long and 6 ½“ wide. The sitting merchant is 4 ¾” tall, 3” wide and 2 ½“ in depth. It depicts a smiling old man holding a tobacco pipe and displaying his merchandise in the market. The signature is placed on a small red rectangular hard stone which is inlayed on an oval ivory piece. It reads “SHOZAN”. It is in excellent condition.

Classic long sleeved silk brocade cheongsam aka qipao. This is all hand tailored and hand sewn, definitely not off the rack. Beautiful floral pattern (lotus, chrysanthemum, and pomegranate blossoms) with foliate scrolls, this pattern can be traced back to Ming Dynasty blue and white porcelain. The zipper has come off the track other than that perfect condition. See enlargements for dimensions. Clean but could use a steam press. More dimensions can be provided for a serious buyer.

A gauzy ivory white silk fabric brocaded with leaves in gold wrapped thread. Condition: fine. Dimension: 108 cm x 36 cm.

Kurdish antique saddle bag most likely for use on a donkey, made in slit-tapestry technique in a variety of colors, woven in one long piece and the folded over on either side to make two storage pouches. The primary central motif is that of two eight armed stars, below this another half reserve with two half-stars and surrounding it all is a beautiful decorative guard band delineated by narrow fence motifs...

This is a traditional style full length silk robe, aka Chapan, from Uzbekistan/Tajikistan area. The pattern was made using an ikat dye technique, and the robe is padded and machine quilted. Excellent condition, shows very little wear...stunning

A brown/black netting fabric with geometric pattern worked in metal. Very popular around the 1920's. Provenance: old Swiss collection. Dimension: c. 63 x 210 cm, weight: 300 g. Condition: clean, one small hole (see picture no. 6).

Large Oushak Turkish hand knotted angora wool carpet with lovely color and deep luxurious pile, made with rich color vegetable died palette of rust gold reds and various blues with charcoal and apple greens.

A gilt copper repousse figure of Garuda, finely worked with outstretched wings, his hands in the Karan mudra or demon-expelling mudra. He wears long necklaces hanging from his neck, with matching arm bands and wristlets. The front of the figure with gold gilt, blue, green, and orange pigments with black and white pigments for the eyes. Garudas are protectors and enemies of the Naga or serpents.

Antique Indian painting of a holy man seated upon a throne, identified by the halo around his head, a line of followers standing before him. The first man in line bestows a ceremonial gift, painted with gilt pigment. Two men stand out of line with a domesticated jaquar. Arabic writing decorates the top and the bottom of the painting. Kuba Caucasian Wool Handknotted Carpet, good design and coloration, running dog border, 44"W 74"L, old restoration, age wear, pre 1920s.

This pair of sleeve bands is made of black cotton satin weave fabric with very delicately stitched floral motif embroidery. Each panel measures 6" x 26" with embroidered area measuring 3" x 9"

Antique Tibetan bronze figure of the Buddhist deity Kubera, lord of wealth, protector of the physical world. He lounges with piles of gold around him. In one hand he holds a mongoose, the enemy of the Naga (malevolent snake people and guardians to vast treasure), and a sweet morsel in his other. This form of Kubera is very well hand-cast with natural wear and patina.

Chinese porcelain box with a cobalt blue underglaze of a twisting dragon on the lid, with squared spiral designs around the lid's edges. The bottom of the box has crashing waves and a large fish sticking its head out from the water. The bottom of the box is marked Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi, "Great Qing Qianlong Period Make". The white spots seen on the box are a reflection of the box's textured surface. Size: 2.25" height, 4" width

Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Censer, 3 1/4" high, 7" diameter-top rim, 3 5/8" diameter-bottom rim, Ca. between 1880 - 1920, with underglaze blue bands of geometric Chinese symbol decoration outside, inside half way down is unglazed. Bottom outside is unglazed with some black script. The condition is good, no damage.
