A Tang Changsha bowl from batu hitam shipwreck belitung. Bowl is in good condition with minor degradation glaze at the rim, small chipped at the rim, no crack, no restoration. Size: 15 cm diameter.
Considered with remained white slip and shape of bottom, it is seemed this piece would be made in early Ryao, has Tang -style. It has very clean green glaze.
Certification: by Noriki Shimazu the famous researcher with Asian antique in Japan.

Agate cylinder seal with an intricate incised design representing a king or deity facing right, surmounted by a bird, and facing a smaller character holding a weapon and standing on a pedestal surmounting a tiny character at its feet. Mesopotamia, ca. 2000 B.C. Height: 4.4 cm. Abrasion, tiny chips, otherwise very good condition.
This is a lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, more than 3,000 years old, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1/2” long (13 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Glyphs appear to include a Red Crown. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.
A rare Chinese Tang Dynasty marble-glazed miniature ceramic tripod container with lid. The marble technique called jiao you (mixed glaze) was developed during the Tang Dynasty. The marble effect was achieved by first mixing dark and light slip on the surface of the vessel and then creating a design as the slip ran together. The entire vessel was then glazed a transparent green allowing the marble effect to show through...

A finely preserved small inscribed foundation cylinder, Neo-Babylonian Empire, c. 8th-6th. century BC.
The barrel shaped piece fully inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform. Untranslated but such cylinders usually has been attributed to Nebucadnezzar II, 604-562 B.C. They were stuck into buidings walls and is often long texts with praises to the builder and the gods, usually a king, just like foundation bricks.

This Olmec maskette is 1 7/8" long, 1 5/8" wide and 1" thick. It has been in a fire, possibly sacrificial in nature, with mild damage to one back edge which lends to its authenticity. It is made from Fuchsite which was used by the Olmecs. Fushsite is a form of mica which can readily be seen in the pictures. This piece was almost certainly used in magical shamanistic ceremonies. I just couldn't get a decent picture of how this piece reflects light...
