This is a set of woman's tobacco case and pipe case which are made of deer skin and has fine katazome ( stencil-dyeing ) komon pattern. The motif is pine needle. It has beautiful clasp of green bean motif which shows prominent craftsmanship in this age. The set also has a pipe, but it seems that it is not an original one as it is shorter than the case. 19th century. In good condition except for some patina. Rare and large bronze shrine. The central figure is a Jina or Tirthankara. He is surrounded by small Jina's on the back plate. Each of the 24 Tirthankaras is represented by an animal or a symbol. There is an engraved animal on the foot of this shrine, but it is hard to distinguish which animal it is. The shrine is in an excellent condition, all three parts belong together, there are no repairs. It has a clean appearance due to the daily worshipping and washing tradition in Jainism...

This extraordinarily rare Olmec Quartz dagger or possible bloodletter was found together with the above jade dagger. It was made from a long quartz crystal of gem quality with no inclusions and ground to shape. This piece is 5 1/2" long. This Olmec artifact is of the finest workmanship and material. The effigy is in a classic Olmec pose. The artifact was in four pieces and glued back together perfectly under a microscope by Dennis Bushey. The breaks were clean and no material filler was needed...

Early 19th century bronze suigaraake (ashtray) netsuke in classic bowl shape, cloisonne outside and a swinging loop for hanging. Excellent early work in terms of Japanese cloisonne, functional netsuke shape, design of flowers among scrolling vines, matte finish, beautiful wear and patina, original pitting typical for the period. Diameter 1 3/4 inches.

This is a magnificent little pedestal bowl from ancient Korea. It dates to the Silla period(57 BCE-935 CE). The body is conical with rectangular perforations common to the era. The lid has been restored from 3 large fragments. Beautiful Korean antiquities are quite scarce so don't miss this fantastic find. It measures about 20 cm in height.

A moulded rinka-gata form dish decorated in underglaze blue with additional enamels in the so-called Kakiemon palette. The outer register painted in underglaze blue with repeating pattern of a landscape with small weathered rocks from which grow auspicious Pomegranates and Peonies. The centre painted with a Chrysanthemum spray. The reverse painted with a simple Karakusa scroll and a six character mark for the Ming Emperor Chenghua...

Pair of Chinese small stone lions, wonderfully carved with great detail and expression, traces of color, each lion is carved standing on a little stone platform, Ming Dynasty. Size: 7" high x 4" wide x 5 1/2" deep.
