Quality Chinese porcelain famille rose bowl; Guangxu Period and mark; decorated with four gilt bordered figural roundels; millefleur decoration completes the exterior; the internal shows a slightly worn gilt and iron-red dragon at the base with a polychrome ruyi head border below the rim; shows some rim gilt wear and a short glaze line that does not go through to the exterior; rings perfectly when tapped; good condition
DESCRIPTION: A good Chinese scholar’s brushpot, carved in deep relief with a continuous mountain landscape scene framed by gnarled pine trees and depicting two groups of scholars, some examining a scroll and others in a boat. The base and rim are encased in hardwood and the pot is engraved with a two line inscription. Very good condition, latter Qing Dynasty, 19th to early 20th C. DIMENSIONS: 6 ½” high (16.5 cm) x 6” diameter (15.2 cm).

Unusually large late 19th century wooden netsuke of a fish. Perfectly captured essence of the creature, pretty much actual fish size, beautifully carved fins, excellent rendition of its head. The material is sakura - cherry tree wood. Extraordinary done large inlaid convex eyes with dark and light horn and underlying gold foil producing superb live effect. A very rare Burmese 17th Century excavated bronze Buddha with 5 Elephants on the base (3 on the front and 1 on each side). Good condition, naturally formed patina. No damage or restorations whatsoever. Size 14.5 cm x 5.5 cm (5.75" x 2.5"). This Buddha is elaborately adorned and very difficult to come by.
Antique Japanese velvet painting "Yuzen Birodo". It is a beautiful image of Mount Fuji with a small town on a lake, the foreground is full of water lilies. It bears a seal in the bottom right of the image. Yuzen Birodo or velvet painting was a technique made popular during the 17th century. The artist would work using a special process of dying where the image is created in the weave of the fabric thus creating an image of rich colors...
Wonderful large cast Iron Kama Tetsubin. Lid is iron with lovely round flower motif on top. Tokugawa Crest of Paulownia Flowers decorate both sides of kettle. Two small loop handles are shaped lion heads. Kettle comes with large wood box, in great condition, marked with Japanese inscription.

Low bodied Attic jug with horizontal flanges at the belly and the base. The beaked spout flanked by two applied knobs rendered as rotelles. The high-swung strap handle from neck to shoulder.
The cushion shaped top with five delicate palmette stamps linked by very fine incised arcs.
The reserved incurving area between the flanges and the broad flat base show the distinct orange-red color of Attic clay.
