Wonderful Charming small Bizen ware handmade sculpture of a sitting dog. Nice detail work especially his eyes and ears and even the circular woven mat on which he sits. He has a collar and an alert expression. Original piece with no condition issues. Taisho Period. (1912-1926). Size: 5 1/2" high

This very well carved brush holder is an early 20th century product. On one side, it depicts six children playing with fire crackers during New Year; on the other side there is a big red character “Fu,” good luck. There are mountain and river scenes on the bottom inside and outside. It is almost 5” high, 4” wide and 3 ½” thick. It is in great condition aside from some old cracks.

Late Meiji Japanese Bizen pottery ware chaire (tea caddy for storing powdered green tea used in tea ceremony) with slender body of rounded triangular section and narrow mouth. Wonderful potting, beautiful patina, very nice texture and play of colors to the glaze on its surface. Inscribed by the potter on the bottom. Turned bone cover lined with silver colored foil on the inside. Great piece in excellent condition. Height with cover 3 3/8 inches.

A cute Kutani ware incense box and cover (Kogo) in the form of a mandarine duck (Oshidori) in typical Kutani color pallet: green, yellow, blue and black. The bottom part with Kutani stamp at the base. Enclosed in an inscribed old tomobako. L 8,5 H 5 cm. Late Meiji to early Taisho. Good condition.

Antique Japanese large scroll painting on silk of a buck and a doe. With incredible detailing such as the thousands of individual hairs on each deer, piercing eyes, long strands of grass with intermingled berry shrubs and blossoming flowers. Creating a tranquil nature scene. Signed "Toko" Tsuchinoto (boar) Aki. Taisho period circa 1920's. Autumn, Year 36 of 60 year cycle. Comes with original tomobako. These two saddle rugs, in knotted pile, are forming a pair and were used together: the larger piece with trapezoid ends served as a saddle cloth (makden), while the smaller rug was a saddle cover (masho). Both items are in their original condition, with a red trim and backed with a coarse beige fabric. Provenance: old Swiss collection. Dimension approx.: makden: 120.5 x 67 cm, masho: 82.5 x 66 cm. Condition: signs of age and wear, rims with partial discoloration, faded.

A small box beautifully decorated with two different kind of hardwood veneer, probably zitan and huanghuali. Early 20th century. Condition: good vintage condition, there is one chip on the end the the cover. Please see photos for detail. Dimensions: 9-1/4" X 2-3/4" X 1-3/4".

A metal box which contains an ink stone to grind ink sticks for writing. The box has been cast in light colored brass and has a copper bottom. The ink stone is secured in the lid with a spring frame. The top of the box shows a beautifully engraved lotus flower with leafs and a bud. There are also engraved Chinese characters which say the box was presented by a younger brother to his older brother. The box measures about 3 5/8" long x 2 3/8" wide x 1" tall. The box is in good condition...

A wonderful boxwood carved netsuke of five turtles climbing on top of each other. Intricate details can be seen throughout, creating a very realistic form. Each turtle has little black eyes. The large turtle on bottom has retreated into his shell and has the artist's signature delicately carved into his belly "Senzan". Size: 2.25" height, 2" width, 1.75" depth

Antique Japanese Iron Tetsubin (teapot). Detailed with flowers and landscape scenes. Wonderful condition with interesting lid signed by the artist. Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) Dimensions: 6 1/2" Wide X 5" High

Late 19th to early 20th century Japanese tea ceremony short hibashi (metal chopsticks for handling charcoal in hibachi brazier) with brass working part and bronze handle inlaid with shakudo and silver keyfret design, and with flower finials. These hibashi are for use in the summer time (winter ones have handle parts covered in wood). Finely made, wonderful quality inlays. Beautiful patina, seem to have never been used, very pleasant to hold. Come with original holder made out of banana leaf...

Banko polychrome enamelled terracotta teapot, representing on each side masks from the Japanese folklore. Handle in wickerwork.

On the spout, Hyottoko, a comical and childlike character. He is recognizable by the shape of his elongated mouth with two red dots (he blows fire with a bamboo pipe), his white scarf with blue dots around his face and his eyes of different sizes...

Korean antique shell inlaid black lacquer ichung nong stacking chest in 3 sections on a footed base. Exquisitely decorated all over with ornate scenes of birds, animals and flowers. The uppermost section has four small drawers across the top. Each of the three sections has a large compartment opened by two door panels. The interior of each section is beautifully lined in paper and has sliding black lacquer panels to hold in it's contents...

Qing Dynasty glass brushrest in the form of a mountain. Late 19th or early 20th century. Appears like an example of "realglar". Undamaged although casting lines related to its production are visible as demonstrated in the photos. 17 cm Long and 6 cm high.

A well carved boxwood netsuke of a Noh theatre mask. Hand carved with a wonderful expressive face. Fine details show through the original finish and condition.

Himalayan Metal Chop with Brass Conch Shell Buddhist symbol inlaid, early 1900's, 1 3/4" high, 1/2" diameter-bottom, steel inlaid star design on the bottom, two(2) holes on the side mid section for the rope carrying on their belt. Some rust remain on the metal area.

DESCRIPTION: A large and masterfully carved Chinese shou shan stone (soapstone) seal in tall rectangular form, the knob carved with a crouching dragon having both wings tucked back covering its sides, and whose mouth is poised to grasp the sacred pearl. On each flat surface of the base are engraved inscriptions and characters among idyllic scenes of rivers with boats, hills, houses and pavilions. The bottom seal characters leave a positive (red) impression...
