A decorative Temmoku glazed bowl with a raised decoration of a Dragon and Lingzhi.
Most probably Japanese and probably from the seventeenth or eighteenth century. There is an incised signature to the piece which could give final clarity to the educated among us.

A Song - Yuan dynasty longquan celadon bluish green twin fish dish, rounded side with flattened rim and glazed base, dish decorated with twin fish motif at the center and raised flower petal motif at exterior, covered with green glaze.
dish is in good condition with shallow chip at outer rim, faint crack line at the rim, no restoration, crackled at glaze surface.

A ceramic pillow in the form of a cat, done in cream and brown colors, in old Cizhou Kiln style.
This is a small cat that measures about 8 1/2" long x 5 1/4" high, and it dates to the turn of the 20th Century. The pillow is an example of Chinese Folk Art, and is in excellent condition with just a couple kiln flaws and an unglazed spot on side of left ear. Free shipping within the USA.
Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with black and gold lacquer decoration of wisteria branches with flowers and tendrils, design continuing onto the back. Beautifully made out of wood with dense texture allowing for very fine teeth, superb fine lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste, in excellent condition. Length 4.15 inches.

Unusual Japanese 2-panel calligraphy screen with highly stylized brushstrokes, bordered with silver leaf and silk. The left character reads "Gi" (or Righteousness); On the right reads "Dao" (the path or way). The inscriptions appear to mean "Righteousness must always be pursued".
Signature of a monk or a priest in his late 70s named Kakuan, appearing to date Spring 1851 with a description of the studio in which the painting was made...
This sculpture includes an inscription on the reverse and is dated to "1427 Samvat," a date that places the sculpture in the 15th century. The piece has sustained a loss to the "edging" along the top (viewer's) right,as well as a loss adjacent to the "canopy," visible in the photograph. The casting quality is, in my opinion, outstanding,completely consistent with the early Jain classical style of sculpture. The piece has a beautiful, warm brown patina. It measures 6-1/4" in height.

Rare quality nobori Japanese banner for Boy’s day; beautiful hand-dyed work of the samurais on cotton. The nobori banners were originally used in the battlefields to shift the troops and to show the warriors the location of their generals. The designs on the banners were much simpler then and some were quite large. They must have had a scaring effect on the enemy when
they saw so many flying banners in the sky approaching towards them...
Interesting late neolithic - early bronzeage stamp seal in attractive dark green stone, finely engraved, East Anatolia/West Mesopotamia, c. 3rd. millenium bC.
The seal finely made with a handle and sort of 'Hat-shaped' like these pre-Hittite seals often are. The engraving shows a pair of horned animals with very long curved horns and with the small triangular spearpoint-forms in the fields, typical for Anatolian seals.
