Antique Chinese jadeite carving of a head of cabbage with a cute cicada sitting on top of the leaves, which have a wonderful bumpy texture and waviness, and a bundle of roots at its base. Size: 3.5" legnth, .75" thickness

Japanese two section tansu made with Kiri (paulownia) wood. The chest's four front drawers feature large, round Kiri wood mon (family crest) motif lock plates , while the Warabite style drawer pulls have small pierced plates below them in the style of a crane mon. The bottom section holds a small corner safe door with two small drawers inside.

This early 20th century carved jadeite lady is 6 ¾ inches tall (with base, it is 8 inches tall), 2 ½ inches wide and I inch thick. It depicts a lady holding a branch of flowers. A crane is standing next to her. It is in great condition.

Antique Japanese hardwood cha tansu (tea chest) with four tiered shelves for the display of tea ceremony articles such as tea pots, plates, etc. The top right section holds a storage compartment behind two sliding panels, while the lower section holds both a large shelved compartment and a secret hidden drawer. Unusual Japanese incensor of two Japanese toads made from Izushi Yaki pottery technique. Depicting a large toad with a smaller baby toad resting on top. Smoke rises from the inner chamber an rises and vents from each of their mouths. Beautiful original patina consisting with age. Overall very good condition.
Izushi is a town that continues on from the mythical era. Today it is a castle town popular for its nostalgic atmosphere of old Japan...

Antique Japanese sword tansu, made with Kiri (paulownia) hardwood, all original finish. The piece holds two large drawers and two small corner drawers, accented with heavy iron handles, lock plates, and corner hardware. The sides of the piece feature long iron fittings for carrying.

Japanese lacquer suzuribako or calligraphy writing box. The box is wood with lacquer, gold gilt sprinkled lacquer, and inlaid shell on the lid, adorned with scrolling leaves, floral medallions and motifs of sparrows. The box interior is red lacquer with gold lacquer patterns. The inside box contains an attached inkstone, a brush, and a small brass water dropper. Underneath is a shallow compartment for the storage of calligraphy papers...

Chinese miniature quartz sculpture of a a woman with an attendant from the 19th century. The woman is robed and holding a flowering branch in her right hand, a basket in her left. The figure to her right is kneeling, with agate base. It measures 2" long, 1.25" deep, 2.5" tall.

Chinese jadeite belt hook carved with a chimera climbing on the body of a dragon with arching head, pale green tones in the head of the dragon turning into bright, luminescent apple green tones down the back of the chimera to the other end. Size: 5" length, 1" thick

Beautiful Jade medallion skillfully pierced and carved on both sides with the Chinese character 'shou' meaning 'longevity'. Around its sides are leaves and lucky bats, which are thought to bring prosperity. 19th century Size: 2.25" diameter, 1/8" thickness

Finely carved foo dog playing with a small ball done in Jade. The fur of the foo dog is carved in stylized scrolled motif with detail work showing each fur. Foo dogs are an auspicious motif in East Asia and often paintings and sculptures are produced. Age: 20th century. Size: height 1.3" width 1.75" length 2.5"

Chinese antique small jade medallion, made of very pale green jade, carved on both sides with four butterflies surrounding a round inset piece which is carved to spin on it's own. Size: 2 1/4" wide (diameter) x 1/8" thick.

A Taisho period Lacquer writing box of superb quality decorated with a design of a stone lantern under broad leaves enclosed in an age darkened kiri-wood box. The scene is performed with Thick slices of shell and lead inlay on black Ro-iro ground with Taka-maki-e and Hira-maki-e designs. Inside is finished in Kin-gin (gold and silver) Nashiji...

A beautiful Japanese lacquer jubako, or tiered storage box, with nishiji background made from sprinkled gold flakes. Each side is decorated by maki-e lacquer imagery of shochikubai, meaning "three friends of winter", bamboo, plum, and pine with gold and silver leaves and flowers. The interior of each level is coated in bright red lacquer. The jubako comes with its own tomobako, or storage box, as well as a second lid. Size: 17" height, 9" width
