A very nice blue and white vase from Kangxi period, Qing Dynasty. On a slightly cracked celadon cover, it has 4 loops at the shoulder. Rare shape, the body of the vase seems to be placed on a cup. It bears a signature close to its base of Yu Hegan (1894 - 1993). Very pretty vase in perfect condition from the early 20th century. H 25 x D14 cm.

Extraordinary late 18th century German silver sugar scissors in the form of a circus monkey. TALL Chinese Eastern Han Dynasty Sichuan Pottery Farmer (81cm / 32")

This tall pottery figure was made during the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25 - 220) and has been excavated from Sichuan province. It is made from a reddish pottery and is highly detailed. Such figures are usually referred to as farmers, although during this period Sichuan farmers were also called upon by their masters to become soldiers when required...

This Burmese antique offering plate was the result of work by dedicated and skillful craftsman. Beautifully woven of bamboo strips, the finished shape would be first painted with repeated layers of black lacquer followed by layers of red lacquer... obvious wear to red paint from repeated handeling through the decades of worshipers allows the under black lacquer to show through in varous areas... measures roughly 5 inches high (12.5 cm) by 10 inches wide (24.9 cm)

A classic Sandwich glass hyacinth vase in a rich teal shade. The vase is entirely hand blown and shows the traces of hand marvering. The deeply concave base has a rough pontil and a basal ring showing the expected wear. Hyacinth vases, sometimes called tuplip vases or bulb vases, were used to force flowering bulbs for wintertime blooms indoors. They were quite the rage and some Victorian homes had numbers of vases arrayed on windowsills. Pieces by Sandwich are uncommon...
