1900' Chinese Chicken Bone Jade Carved Boy Toggle and Japanese Cloisonne Inro

The inro is 2.6 inches (6.5 cm) long by 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) wide by 0.82 inch (2.1 cm) thick. The toggle is 1.1 inches (2.8 cm) tall by 1.5 inches (3.85 cm) wide. It is 103 gram.

It has minor missing enamel, surface wears and scratches at the inro. The jade boy has inclusions, a chip and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Meiji (1868-1912) Japanese Bronze Articulated Crab

It is 2.2 inches (5.5 cm) tall by 6.8 inches (17.3 cm) wide. It is 743 gram (1.6 Lb).

It has oxidation and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A beautiful Spode porcelain plate painted with a variety of motifs. The pattern number is not listed in any of the Spode pattern books, nor have I been able to find examples of the decoration. A reasonable assumption might be that this was produced as a "one-off" sample for a larger service that was not completed.

The decoration on the plate includes an exotic bird, shells and feathers, and fruits, an interesting combination to say the least...

Rather unusual 19th century Japanese brush holder made out of a length of bamboo rhizome (root). Part of the root is made into a cover to the larger length which is hollowed inside to accommodate a painting brush. Five beautifully carved characters on the top read RAKUTAN YUUGI MOE which can be translated as “day of pleasure with strong affection to tradition/ceremony”...

Late Meiji/Taisho (1890s-1910s) Japanese wooden nyoi - a Buddhist scepter of simple shape with its head carved as a rolled up scroll. Nyoi, or Ruyi scepter is a traditional symbol of scholarship and transmission of knowledge. Elegant carving on dense fruitwood with beautiful texture, hole for the cord is lined with dark rosewood, two old gold lacquer patches on the head, wonderful patina to the surface, very pleasant to the touch...

Dating early 20th century is this perfect Moser crackle glass pitcher with opposing sides featuring enameled scenes of a heron in a natural setting. The crackle glass is a champagne color and the the enameling is rich and vibrant, large polished pontil is on bottom. Measures 5 1/2 inches high. A beautiful piece for the collector of Moser or crackle glass.

Very sweet little circular cloisonne box with a pale yellow ground. The foot is exposed copper. The interior of both the lid and base is a mottled dark green. Some expected pitting to the enamel. In excellent antique condition, no dents, no chips, no cracks, it measures 2.25 inches in diameter. Circa 1800

A fine set of 4 watercolor schoolgirl paintings executed with a very high degree of artistry, probably originally done as bookplates. They have been mounted in pairs in attractive figured maple frames. The first frame has the paintings shown in the 2nd and 3rd photos and the 2nd frame has the paintings shown in the 4th and 5th photos.

The paintings and frames are in excellent condition, with the first frame, shown in the top left of the first photo, measuring 12 5/8" by 10 3/4"...

19th century wooden netsuke of a hunter with a flintlock rifle trapped by an enormous scrotum of a badger. Uncommon topic in netsuke, excellent crisp carving, superb faces - distressed one of the hunter and cold smiling one of the badger, wonderful hairwork, great detailing of the hands of the hunter and veins on the scrotum, beautiful patina. Signed JURAKU on the foot of the hunter - the artist is listed in NETSUKE by Neil Davey (p. 477, number 962). Length 1 1/2 inches.

A rare huanghuali wood Chinese "violin" called an erhu. The main body and neck are carved from a single piece of huanghuali wood, its top stretched with snake skin of beautiful patterning. The bottom of the main body has a sound hole with an openwork carving of a stylized "shou" character meaning longevity (this bottom panel is a separate piece of huanghuali)...

Two(2) Chinese Brass oval shape Gallery Trays, Ca. 1870, Etched Peony Flower Branch with broad leaves on top with beautifully lined up Gallery rim, and supported by four(4) round feet, etched mark "CHINA" on the bottom. This small Gallery Tray can be used for cosmetic make up things and also scholar's pin and other desk items. The condition is good.

Two sides of the tureen have an exotic bird painted, by Henry Stinton, in a central reserve which is surrounded by a white field edged with gilded rococo scrollwork.
