This antique Chinese civil rank badge has the golden goose representing 4th rank. Embroidered using brick stitch this badge is has a fret background,key border and is decorated with bats, turtles and flowers. Curiously the sun is missing but the badge is old and still has the remnants of a few threads which were used to sew it to the front of the robe. The badge has traditional blue silk lining and is in excellent condition...

An exact miniature version of a Tanegashima matchlock rifle in the form of a Netsuke with a little gilt metal loop as himotoshi. The match-lock rifle was introduced by the Portuguese in 1543 and is rarely seen in Netsuke art. The rifle is iron with brass and black lacquer and gilding. A Christofle Silver Plate Double Lipped Punch Ladle in the Georgian Style; Length 14.5"; circa 1890. Excellent condition.

This is a wonderful tea bowl of Japanese Hagi Ware, which was made about 100 years ago.

The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom. Some natural glaze cracks, which were intentionally created in the time of the firing process, are very nice. This bowl has an authentic wabi sabi taste.

Mongolian or Tibetan 2 large medical illustrations of a male figure. Each 48 x 32.5 cm. Undated, estimated to be early 20th century or earlier. Coloured ink on paper. Good condition, edges frayed, 3 folds, blank on reverse.

Large Art Deco vase made by CAB (Ceramique d'Art de Bordeaux) for Ovington, New York, circa 1920. This vase measures approximately 8 1/2" (height) by 6 1/2" (across). Incised "Made in France" and "Ovington, New York". In excellent condition.

A fine Edwardian 3-7/8 x 3-1/2" cedar lined square style hinged sterling silver cigarette box fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1912. This box has the maker's mark for S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd., it weighs 307 grams and it has a Gothic Y.L.B.(?) monogram. It has a cloth-covered base and it is in excellent condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a pinpoint dent on the lid and a slightly crumpled upper left corner on the lid...

This assortment of cosmetic brushes along with the small container was originally part of a large cosmetic set which would have been commissioned for the a wealthy Japanese bridal trousseaux. Many layers of the rich black roiro-nuri lacquer was applied and polished to achieve the deep lusterious tone. The brushes are accented with a 2 and 3 tone golden floral motif. None of the brushes show any signs of use...
