Pair of George V sterling silver candlesticks. Made by Lionel Alfred Crichton in London in 1917. Each: Tapering and fluted pillar supporting urn socket. Raised and stepped square foot. Beading, acanthus leaves, and swags and paterae. Neoclassical form and ornament. Fully marked. Very good condition with a few pings, principally on foot rim.

Decorated on all sides including the drawer fronts with detailed harakusa (octopus vine) design in fine maki-e lacquer on a dense nashiji ground. The drawers are covered on all sides in fine nashiji gold flakes. Hardware is made of silver and incised with a similar scrolling vine motif.

Antique Indian gilt copper repouse plaque depicting many scenes from the life of Buddha. Starting just before his birth (upper left hand side) with the white elephant that descends from heaven with the buddha and enters Maya between her ribs as she sleeps. Moving to the upper left corner, we see the miraculous birth of Maya's fully formed baby out of her side. She is depicted holding onto a tree branch during birth like a yakshi tree spirit...
Set of 4 Bronze Secular Candlesticks of the early 19th century. They have a gothic revival design and measure 20”. They are in wonderful condition.
This is a very charming kimono made of thick cotton from the Meiji era.
The outer material is stencil dyed, and the back side is asamai-shibori cloth with indigo dyeing. It's a technique called aigaeshi. There are no stains or damage, and the condition is very excellent. This lovely clothes brush has a sterling top patterned with the classic Art Nouveau Swirling tresses and flowers. The brush is marked F & B for the Theo. W. Foster & Bro. Company of Providence RI. This company was incorporated under that name in 1898 and was among the largest manufacturers of jewelry & sterling silver vanity goods in the Art Nouveau period.
The brush is 5 ½" X ¾" and dates from 1900-1910.
Antique Japanese hanging garden lantern in the form of a house with tall roof. Overall diamond shape with four sides and pierced lattice-work doors and windows. One side has a hinged door which opens outward and is latched with a little bronze bird.
