Rare Chinese Western Han Dynasty Iron Chisel / Axe Head (206 BC - AD 8)

This iron axe head or chisel dates to the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). Surviving iron objects of this age are very rare. This example does of course have rust and corrosion, there is a small part missing at the open end together with some cracks, but it is free from restoration or repair...

Large bronze cross pendant in a hollow style with two halfs put together.

Likely Eastern Europe, 12th.-14th. century AD.

Size: c. 38 mm. quite heavy.

A gorgeous sterling silver cream ladle rare on two counts. First, Fessenden’s 1910 “Tulip” pattern is very uncommon. Secondly, while spoons were often engraved as souvenir pieces, serving pieces were hardly ever given this treatment. This is the only souvenir cream ladle we’ve seen. The matte gilt bowl is engraved with a very detailed representation of the U.S. Capitol Building underscored by “Washington DC”. The back is hallmarked by Fessenden & Co.

Origin: America, ca. 1910...

Measuring 3.25 inches high by 3.75 inches in diameter, this lovely Victorian Barber Shop, mustache or shaving cup or mug remains in excellent condition but for the subtle wear to the gilt-edged rim.

The cup is embossed with swirls, dots and bows as well as decorated further with gold-drawn designs and 2 large, hand-painted pink roses with 1 smaller cream-colored rose. The cup base is scalloped and the fancy handle is gold-gilded.

A very pretty piece!

Vintage Chinese wooden stand of irregular shape with carved indentations: judging by their shape the stand was fitted for a carving (most probably jade) of a resting animal. Beautiful dense rosewood with wonderful patina, in excellent condition. Length of the top 2.8 inches, maximum width at the top 1.3 inches, height 0.7 inches.

A large and ornate pierced blade fish server c1850-70. This fine 12-3/8" silver plated serving piece was made by Edward Barnard & Sons; it has a nicely pierced blade and it has the quatrefoil barnard mark with B in the centre and E, E J and W surrounding, with a shield mark and B mark and bird mark. This item is in excellent vintage condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor plating wear at the top of the handle...

A very unusual cup with an undulating suhama style rim; a formalization of an undulating shore line of spits and coves decorated with a pair of auspicious Horses, uma. The cup measures 9.5cm in diameter and stands 6.5cm high. The cup is in excellent condition, no cracks, chips or restoration. Dating late 18th century circa 1780. A fine quality unsigned pinwheel design American Brilliant Cut glass 3-3/4" tall (including lid) mustard pot c1900-20 . This hand cut crystal jar features a facetted stopper, and it is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a miniscule fleabite to the bottom rim and the very top of the finial (barely noticeable)...
