Painted wood panel depicting a seated Anubis, depicted with the head pf a canine, with prominent details, wearing a long garment and with arm raised in adoration. 5.5 inches high X 2 inches wide. Late Period, 600-30 B.C. Purchased on the Amsterdan art market. Said to be originally purchased in the 1950s-1960s in the Middle East. Beautiful 12 inch tall rose pattern signed “Locke Art” vase. The vase has a rayed pattern on the underside of the foot and an etched dentil pattern on the rim. The vase is 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the base and top while the main body is 2 7/8 inches in diameter. This rare form is in wonderful condition.

Hemp furoshiki with tsutsugaki tai (sea bream) and bamboo design, whose wefts and warps are hand plied. The family crest is Maruni-Katabami-Mon. Katabami is perennial plant, named oxalis. Hand-sewn but both hems are machine sewn. The sewing machine was already imported in late Edo period and probably it was used widely in Meiji period (1868∼1912). In good condition except for a few spots. Meiji period. Made in Kyushu. W:95cm, L:110cm

Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain deep dish decorated in underglaze blue on a white ground with a central roundel painted in the ‘Master of the Rocks’ style with a figure in a landscape scene with mountains in the background and traditional buildings at the right side. The back wall is decorated with four foliage sprays. A two-character mark within concentric rings on the base translates “harmony jade.” 17th century (transitional to Kangxi period). 8” diameter x 1 1/2” high...

Eight petal Chinese Tang dynasty (618-907) foliate form bronze mirror with central pierced knob and four relief characters reading “long life, riches, and honor” (chang ming fu gui). 7 1/4” diameter. Good condition overall with typical wear and extensive patina. From the estate of Gerhard Lohmeier, a Diplomat at the German Embassy in Beijing from 1985 to 1989.

Authentic 1858 coloured antique steel engraving of Jawahar Singh and his entourage from the watercolour attributed to William Carpenter in the Kapany collection. Inscription on reverse dated circa 1845. Image size 32x22 cm. Laid down on card. Image in good condition, background card with creases and tears. Rare lotus blossom form of Chinese tea or rice bowl, brown glaze on buff color pottery, dates to Liao Dynasty, (907 - 1125 AD), thinly potted, delicate and beautiful, from collection of Jan Erik Nilsson. Very old wood statue of Buddhist goddess Sho Kannon Bosatsu (one of the many forms of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara), wearing formal robes, and a diadem with bronze decorations on the two sides, standing on a lotus, her left hand holding a vase, her right hand in abhaya mudra. The goddess face reflects a profound meditation. Remnants of the original gilding. Fine age patina. Japan, early Edo period. Height: 25.2 cm. Good condition.

Cotton cloth, called "yu-age”, which is used for a newborn baby. It is ordered by parents of a mother as a congratulatory gift. It has tsutsugaki auspicious motifs, such as a crane, a turtle, pine tree, plum blooms and bamboos. Red part in the top corner is for wiping baby's face, because red color is thought to be good for baby's eyes. It is from Izumo region in Shimane prefecture. In good condition, but the red and indigo blue are a bit faded. Meiji period (1868∼1912）65㎝ x 103cm

Amazing boro sodenashi (sleeveless) noragi, whose ground cloth as well as mending patches are mostly vegetable indigo dye cotton cloth. Some of sashiko yarns are indigo dye hemp. Late 19th century. It is from Niigata prefecture. W:62cm, L:80cm

Chinese Qing dynasty bombe form censer (incense burner) with flared brown dressed rim decorated around the circumference in underglaze blue on a white porcelain ground with two four-clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl of wisdom.
