Large antique Tibetan chest/trunk painted with a deep red background in front, with a coiled dragon within a large cloud-shaped border. Red and gold painted flowers with long, deep green stems fray out from behind the dragon and reaches inwards from the sides of the chest, with small green birds perching on either side of the dragon...
Clearly for a wealthy family, this small lamp was meant to be used as a personal light. The cat like figure has a filler hole between the ears, good weight (important for stability) and is silver in color, but exact metal content is not known...He/she is charming...4 inches x 3.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep...
Chinese antique large planter, round form and standing on three stout legs, around the center is a ring of applied carved porcelain butterflies with lion like heads and white glaze, around the rim is a ring of applied carved porcelain florets, the bottom has a hole for drainage. Minor losses and cracks from firing process, there is also an impressed six character mark From Jingdezhen. 19th century.

this old set of books was originally held together into a single volume with a cover..
The cover is now clearly falling apart and the books are all tied together with a leather cord probably done sometime in the 50's. Each volume covers a different aspect of law...civil, criminal etc...
There is a very faded red seal on the front page...the photo of the seal has been enhanced to hopefully make it more readable... Lots of Chinese characters used throughout the text...

Large, rectangular brush pot made from a dark bamboo wood. Each of its four sides has a large panel, carved skilfully with beautiful scenery. Adult and children figures are carved performing similar tasks, such as fishing over a bridge, with grass huts, rugged rock formations, large exotic trees bearing fruit, and beautiful architecture becoming the main focus of each panel. Each side is separated by a thin corner panel, carved with two serpents or dragons with vine-like bodies...
This antique pair of spectacles folds into the space of a single eyeglass for easy carrying. Lacking ear pieces, they rest on the nose, hence the name pince nez. The rims are tortoise shell.

A scarce Arts and Crafts American art pottery coffee pot by Clifton Art Pottery of New Jersey. This 6-7/8" tall coffee pot is in the lovely "Crystal Patina" glaze and it dates to the 1902-6 period. It has the stamped Clifton mark and an underglaze 272-30; it is in very good original condition with no chips, crazing, damage or repairs other than the loss of the lid and a tight hairline on the bottom only (not showing on the interior at all)...
A truly unusual vintage Art Nouveau period 7-1/4" x 4-5/8" porcelain dish with a high relief gilt woman smoking c1900. This unsigned dish has lots of gilding, and the woman is emitting a stream of smoke; there is a smoking cigarette to her right. It has a painted mark of 82 in red and it is probably German or Austrian. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than some rubbing and losses to the gilding...
DESCRIPTION: A large, handsome Burmese wood sculpture of a male Nat, or nature spirit, dressed in traditional attire and engaged in a joyful dance. Such images were first carved from wood, then laboriously decorated with applications of red lacquer then gold gilt. Dating from the early 20th C., it has been mounted on a rod with square base. Please see the last photo for size comparison with our other Nat, FIG56. Although not purchased as a pair, these make wonderful companion pieces...
