German Nymphenburg Royal Porcelain Cake Stand or compote, pure white clean porcelain with beautifully low relief laid out design and open work on the wide molded fluted rim, 3 3/4" high, 8 1/4" diameter-top, 4"-5" wide-bottom, with reticulated Rococo style between Pine Cone, supported by four(4) shaped feet and molded raised design stem. Underglaze blue mark on the bottom. The condition is good, no damage.

A fine large ceramic vessel - a globular jar with negative resist pattern in black on red, Ecuador or Columbia, pre 1000 AD.

Size: 23 cm. wide and 14 cm. tall.

Condition: Nice Very fine, intact with a tiny pin-hole in the side, preserved decoration.

A beautiful sterling silver vase in the Art Nouveau taste by Shreve & Co. The sinuous trumpet form body is decorated with gorgeous applied silver iris blossoms and buds accented with engraved foliage. The body rises to a ruffled rim that mimics the curvy lines of the floral decoration. The foot is decorated at compass points with iris blossoms, their stems forming the rolled bottom edge. The bottom is hallmarked by Shreve & Co. with the post-1894 mark.

Cartouche-shaped black marble plaque inset with oval micromosaic panels depicting Roman archaeological scenes (clockwise from upper left): the Coliseum, the Temple of Hercules, the Roman Forum and the Pantheon. Those four panels surround the Doves of Pliny, an image often used in micromosaics, which comes from a Roman floor mosaic at Hadrian’s villa in Tivoli and is believed to be a copy of a lost ancient Greek mosaic at Pergamon described by Pliny the elder...

Antique Japanese set of 4 wagon wheels. The smaller wheels have 12 spokes while the larger ones have 14. The central hub and outside edges of each wheel is lined with iron.

A beautiful octagon shaped table circa 1880 opening to reveal a lined interior that can be removed. The base in the shape of an eight sided vase with Cabrio carved legs. Measuring 17” in diameter and the height 27.5” QUILLEN ESTATE

Wonderful early sculpture, depicting a Chinese saint or deity. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). H. 35 cm. Condition: expected age wear.

The vase is cast in one piece. Inspired by archaic Chinese bronze ritual vessels, it bears a Taotie mask decoration. This decoration is reduced to two narrow bands instead of occupying more space as usually on the bronzes of the Ming period, this more austere character, the slender shape and the patina with a much more antique aspect allows us to think so. older, probably from the Song period or earlier. Antique Japanese scroll painting of a horse, done in sumi ink, its legs kicked up into the air. Very disciplined calligraphy brush work is used, and may have been executed by a Zen Buddhist monk. This horse painting was possibly cut down from a larger screen and mounted as a scroll.

Beautiful, signed, iridescent glass plate made by Quezal around 1910. The 16-ribbed plate is 7 1/4 inches wide and 1/2 inch in height. In great condition without chips, cracks or repairs. Outstanding colors. Signed on the polished pontil.

This is a superior Takeda ningyo (doll), an old Japanese theater doll which was most likely modeled after the character, Teiseiko from “Kokusenya-ya-Gassen.” It was a popular theater play in 18th to 19th century Japan. The setting of the play is during mid 17th century China towards the end of the Ming Dynasty. Teiseiko (also known as Watonai) was fighting the battle for the old dynasty...

For several reasons, this is a very unusual basket. To start with a basic description, it is a very large (17" by 17" by 15 1/4"), square, covered splint basket from the Maine area, most probably made by the Penobscot Indian tribe. Many baskets of this type are of splint, colored with vegetable dyes. Some have the added design of potato stamped patterns on the splints.

This particular basket is done in vibrant tones of green, yellow, and natural brown...

Gold dragons prance about the vermillion surface of this exquisite vessel by important Meiji potter Eiraku Zengoro XIV (Tokuzen) enclosed in the original signed wooden box which is in turn enclosed in an outer box also annotated by a later generation Eiraku. Remembered specifically for his mastery of Aka-e Kinsai ware, this is a museum worthy example of this important potters work. It is 43 cm (17 inches) tall and in excellent condition...

this antique pair of lotus embroidered lotus shoes are most likely from northern china. the vamp is a quilted cotton fabric. Each shoe is embroidered with the same floral design on both sides. The shoes were used and show some soiling on the vamp and the soles are slightly worn and dirty.

A lovely and rare stamp seal depicting two horned animals mating, West-Mesopotamia, c. 2nd.-1st. mill. BC.

The seal is exceptionally well-carved for the type with a four-side and pierced handle atop of the rectangular base. The stone is even dark green. Rare depiction!

Size: 22 x 19 mm. and 13,5 mm. tall.

Condition: Extremely fine for the type.
