An antique Japanese Isho Biraki Tansu (clothes storage chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze and iron hardware. Beautiful hardwood trim outlining the Tansu front. A pair of hinged doors secure 4 removable Kimono trays behind. 3 large drawers below provide added storage for clothes and textiles. Constructed using straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails.

A dish of auspicious shuronagata, hemp palm form, decorated in gilt outlined enamels with Bamboo and Prunus, emblematic of the season of Spring and the New Year. The reverse decorated with three pairs of ribbon tied shippo, and a six character reign mark for the Chinese Emperor Chenghua. The base of the dish supported by set of 4 spur marks distributed in a Y shaped form.
The dish was probably produced at the Kakiemon kiln in the Nangawara valley...

Antique Chinese porcelain bowl, of an oval form with ribbed sides and a famille rose color palette. The yellow sides are incised with various Chinese inscriptions in blue glaze while several key characters are glazed in red. The foot is tall and deeply recessed with a red seal of Daoguang (1821-1850).
The bowl is placed within a dramatic metal display of a fleur de lys design, raising it on narcissus style legs.

Old kasuri (Japanese ikat) kimono worn on celebratory occasions. The fabric, which is woven with asa(hemp) and dyed in indigo (aizome), is coarse and stiff yet lustrous with an almost transparent look. The pattern is geometrical and pictorial; with flowering wisteria branches, stylized pines, Chinese style clouds, fans and phoenix-like birds. It shows some weakened area from neck to shoulder lines and the lower part of the kimono. There is a seam at 21.5"/22" from the bottom hem...

It is embroidered with surihitta by hand, and it is represented by a very precise technique.
Because there are many damage, we reinforced by sticking with Japanese paper on the back.

There is a mirror in Edo period in the inside. There is neither stain nor damage.
