Our keeper ring once had hallmarks but they are worn off, so we are estimating this ring to be from the late 1890's. Our ring has plaited gold work on the underside, a work of art of itself. A "Keeper" ring is a snug fitting ring worn to prevent the loss of a more valuable ring by keeping the larger ring from sliding off.

Ancient Chinese horse snaffle bridle-bit, Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Spring and Autumn period (770-476 BC).
Made of bronze bit with a mouthpiece composed of two canons connected in the center, each cast with a loop at both ends.

18/19th Century Chinese gilt lacquered wood carving of a seated immortal temple statue. There is some rubbing of gilding, chips, peeling of lacquer, stains, cracks, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos). Worth noting is the well rendered facial expression, the hair is still intact in the ears and mustache, and the details in the clothing. Measures 9 inches high.

Circa English 1870, a rare faux burl walnut book slide featuring a pair of gilt brass gothic revival style mounts enclosing an oval Sevres hand painted porcelain plaque of a woman. The faux painted burl wood and is quite exceptional in detail, depth and richness of color. Note: one brad missing in a lower right corner (see 2nd photo). In very good antique condition, it measures 6.25 inches high, 5.75” deep, and 13” long. Extends up to 22.5” long.
