Miniature altar dedicated to Hindu Goddess Annapurna. The goddess is shown sitting cross-legged on a lotus throne, holding her ritual spoon on her lap, and backed by an aureola. Bronze, with traces of its original green patina. India, ca. 17th century. Height: 4.7 cm. Strong abrasion due great age, otherwise very good condition.
17th century small Chinese white stoneware jar with underglaze blue painting. The jar comes from an old Japanese collection, this type of stoneware is known as Swatow ware, but more correctly named as Zhangzhou ware from Fujian province. Beautiful glaze with fine crackle, central register with excellent free painting of blooming flowers in reserves with stylized waves in between. Pendant leaves around its mouth, old Japanese lacquer repair to the mouth. Very strong piece, has wonderful presence...
Late Qing Dynasy (1880s 10 1911) century Chinese glass seal of square section. Wonderful simple piece appropriate for a scholar’s desk, beautiful transparent glass, very pleasant finish to the surface. The bottom is carved with two raised characters, old dried sea paste in the grooves. The impression of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1 (photo is flipped left to right to present the image as it will actually print on paper). Height 1 1/4 inches, 3/8 inches square.
Hard paste fluted handless cup and saucer decorated with a brownish purple edge, flowers and a green and black band with elaborate breaks and red bindings. In the center of the saucer three larger flowers and a single flower at the bottom of the cup. Unmarked though probably Champions, circa 1775. Cup 1 ¾ inches tall, 2 ¾ inches diameter. Saucer 4 5/8 inches diameter.
Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Very little wear.
Very pleasing unusual decoration.

18th century Chinese toggle (similar in function to netsuke) carved out of boxwood in a shape of a monkey on a base, its face almost human, its mouth open. Very beautifully worn charming piece, patina consistent with age. Could have been used as a small brush rest. Very nice fingering piece, as well as an object for a scholar’s desk. Height 1 9/16 inches.
Antique hand-made solid silver Tibetan Buddhist Ritual Anointing Medicine Silver” Tsog “spoon adorned with repousse and engraved designs, the handle, jeweled with natural turquoise stone.
Not hallmarked but has been tested and it is at least 900 silver .
CONDITION: in very good condition with no distracting dings, dents, or repairs.

A nice pair of painted cast iron curtain tiebacks in the form of sunflowers. The original paint is nicely applied with good shading.

A pair of plates beautifully enameled, the well with a flower basket within an iron-red border and surrounded by various fruit and flowers, all in the early Famille Rose palette and gilt,including a pale pink.The back with Lingzhi fungus in iron-red. Finely cast small statue of Hindu Goddess Annapurna, sitting cross-legged on an elevated throne, holding the ritual spoon in both hands. Bronze, with reddish and green patina. India, 17th century, maybe earlier. Height: 4.3 cm. Abrasion due to great age, otherwise good condition.
A nice lot of three Early Byzantine bronze weights, dating to the early Byzantine period, later 1st. millenium BC.
The weights are all inscribed with letters and nicely patinated.

18th century small Indian bronze votive sculpture depicting Shridevi - a form of Lakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu. She is holding an open lotus in her left hand. Very nice casting - see her graciously bent figure, beautiful warm brown patina, high devotional wear with traces of sandalwood powder in crevices, overall in great condition for a votive piece. Height 2 3/8 inches.
Unusual collection of 6 old “prayer cloths” from a Taoist Master’s ceremonial robe (see last enlargement). For generic purpose’s these should be considered to be from the Mien group as they came from Vietnam and are circa 50 to 60 years old- woven from handspun cotton. They all have the same basic pattern indicating they are probably from the same priest’s outfit. These used to be quite easy to get about 20 years ago but now almost impossible to find...
