These hibashi are for use in the summer time (winter ones have top half covered in wood). Finely made of bronze with high copper contents, beautiful casting and chiseling of the fungus, embossed areas at the working end for better handling of charcoals. Tibetan painted Zitan wood figure of a standing Padmapani Bodhisattva one of the many forms of Avalokitheshvara. Tibet or Nepal, 18th cent. His right hand lowered and extended in varadamudra while the left is raised in vitarkamudra. His face has a serene expression; he is wearing a dhoti, a scarf and jewels. The Bodhisattva only has been made of precious Zitan wood. Standing on a separate carved lotus base, behind him a flaming halo, both base and halo made of a different type of wood...

A large 'Luristan' tanged Bronze lance head dating to 2nd. mill. BC.

The lance with a leafshaped blade, a rectangular-sectioned midrib and gently curved shoulders. The tang is bend at the top.

Condition: A choice lancehead with azurite and green patina. Intact with some nicks and roughness to the edge.

The Size of Tea Pot: 6 1/2" Long x 5 1/2" Wide x 5 1/4" High. This very unusual Japanese Porcelain Tea Pot in Sometsuke (Blue and White). It is all handpainted design of Botan (peony) with Chrysanthemum flowers as well as some relief works on flowrs. The condition of Tea Pot excellent. Antique Japanese small lacquer tebako (accessory box) with image of a crane standing on the bank of a lake or stream. Looking up at the crane from the swirling water, is an ancient turtle. A pine tree and fruit tree grow on the hillside behind the crane. Fine gold maki-e lacquer with dense gold nishiji on a black lacquer ground. The interior of the box is entirely covered in gold nishiji. The rim of both the bottom and lid of the box is edged in silver...

An antique Japanese Mikuni Gyosho Bako (Peddler's Box) that originates from the Chūbu region of Japan. Made of Keyaki (Zelkova), Hinoki (Cypress), and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Hand made iron fittings and hardened wooden nails complete this unique piece. Behind the hinged door lies 3 drawers and a storage shelf. The carrying handle atop the chest allowed for easy transport from place to place.
