This porcelain tea pot with stand was produced in England around 1790 to 1810. We had seen a similar pot identified as Chamberlain Worcester. There are no marks or numbers to identify it. The pot measures 10 inches from the handle to the spout and approximately 6 inches high, including the lid. The porcelain has a grayish hue. The pot has molded ribs with a C shaped scrolled handle. Superbly Dutch engraved, as the best of these are, with the coat of arms of the province of Holland, the pointed round funnel bowl is on a stem with a teared baluster knop above a central annulated knop above a teared inverted baluster knop. An interesting large terracotta idol figurine of either astarte or a priest´(?), Syro-Hittite, dating to the mid-later period of the 3rd. millenium BC.

The pillar figure with large round eyes with slits and applied details of mouth and beak-like nose. Angular shoulders and a monolithic body with her hands and delineated fingers placed over the breast and a necklace. The figure also wears an interesting conical cap or hat, a rarer feature for these figures.

A lovely sterling silver powder box by Gorham. The entire body and matching lid are covered in repousse decoration of swirling acanthus leaves. The sides flare out in an elegant curve that is continued in the lid which rises to point in the middle. The bottom is hallmarked with Gorham’s old mark, the pattern number “670” and the date mark for 1890.
