Excellent crisp modeling with incised details - see his superb dreamy face, well defined hand and clothing details. A finely made battle axe with nice lines and curves, boat-shaped. One end thick and blunt to function as a hammer. Made in attractive brown-grey stone and with old collection tag in white ink (see below).

An exceptional large and massive bronze 'Mat' weight, Chinese, Han Dynasty, c. 206 BC – 220 AD.

This weight which is probably dating to the Eastern Han, 25-220 AD, depicts a fancyful reclining animal, probably a Dog. Cast in bronze with fine archaic features and a round object at the right hind leg, which could be symbolizing a cash coin.
The beast was finely gilded and plated in antiquity and much of the gold is still visible on the surface...

A fine American tinsel or foil painting depicting a wreath of flowers, with a bird, around a grouping of fruit and foliage. The wreath is on a variation of the relatively rare "snowflake" type of background. This technique appears to have been done primarily in the 1870's period. The frame and wooden backboard are original.

There is a crack in the glass at the top left, and a small piece of glass is missing...

Statue of a Taoist deity, in formal attire, standing on a rectangular base on which a chimera or a dog is carved in relief. Two votive boxes, their lids missing, at the back. Wood, nice semi-glossy patina. China, Ming Dynasty period. Height: 12 1/2" (32 cm). The statue is mounted on a custom wood stand. Some loss at the base, chips, otherwise very good condition.

Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Figure (AD 618 - 906)

This rare and interesting pottery figure was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is fairly highly-fired, having a distinct ring to it when tapped.
