This wallpaper box in the shape of a man's stove pipe hat has a wonderful blue and mustard wallpaper with yellow brim trim. The hat box is all about looks! And the looks are from eye level up meaning that the top and the bottom of the hat box are long missing. I have used it with a print works cat sitting in it...see picture. (Sorry you have to find your own cat!) But if set on a shelf or on top of a cupboard you don't know anything is missing. As I said it has a great look...

19th century Japanese kozuka (sword knife) handle with multimetal inlays depicting a Shinto ritual ladle containing various flowers, its bamboo handle decorated with a tied ribbon. Superb crisp work - see the fine textures of different flowers and nodules of the handle, silver and bronze inlays, gilding, finely textured ground called nanako, which means “fish-eggs” as it resembles fine rows of caviar, in great condition. Length 3 9/16 inches.

Small statue of Buddha, in monk's robes, sitting cross-legged on an elevated lotus throne, holding a bowl in his left hand, his right hand in protecting and blessing posture (abhaya mudra). The statue was cast in the style of the Liao dynasty Buddha images. Bronze, with fine age patina. Qing Dynasty, 18th century. Slight abrasion due to age, otherwise very good condition.

This Japanese Meiji period 6 sided porcelain chocolate pot was made for export to the Western markets. The chocolate pot has a lovely traditional Japanese scene which was hand painted, with bits of moriage detail. Excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, pot is 9.5 inches tall. There are 3 matching cups and saucers will be listed separately.
Dated by McKinley Tariff Act requiring name of country of origin to be permanently engraved (stamped) or imprinted into a piece.

A fine old charmingly naive watercolor drawing of a boy dressed almost as a girl, in the style of the times, titled in pencil at bottom "William John Babb March 1834". This work appears to be in its original weathered old frame, the original surface beautifully alligatored. Measuring 7 1.2" by 5 1/2" (10" by 8" including frame), the drawing is perfect for the small wall. Colors are perhaps a little faded after nearly 200 years...

21124692 A very pretty Mount Washington satin finish Burmese jar decorated with daisies. The jar is 3 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. There is no lid, but otherwise in excellent condition. There are several examples of this piece shown in Wilson’s “Mt. Washington & Pairpoint Glass” volume 1 and Sisk “Mt. Washington Art Glass.”

An uncommon tinsel, or foil, painting on glass. Extremely vibrant, with deep colors, the painting shows a bluebird surrounded by a variety of fruit, with a compote of fruit behind it. It is rare to have a foil scene without a lot of open space between subjects.
The painting is in excellent condition, as is the later frame, which measures 16 1/4" by 13 1/4".

Chinese Qing dynasty blue and white export porcelain deep punch bowl decorated around the exterior circumference in the traditional Canton or Nanking pattern with figures on bridges and in boats on a lake, willow trees, and traditional buildings in a landscape scene. A circular panel in the center of the bowl holds a similar scene. A geometric band extends around the interior and exterior rim. Solidly 19th century. 11 1/4" diameter x 4 1/2" high. Excellent overall condition...

This silver plate Meriden Britania Co. Number 202 napkin ring is a long tailed bird resting upon the stem of a large leaf,its tips creating the feet. The banded napkin ring holder has in its center a leaf design with the space for engraving. This space is engraved "Ella" very lightly and very small. The Japanning shows some wear and there is a bump to the side of the ring. It is hallmarked "Meriden" in a circle. Lots of detailing on this item.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first class under glaze blue crossed swords marks. The saucer is 4 1/4 inches in diameter and is 7/8 of an inch deep. The cup is 2 inches high with a diameter of 2 inches. The cup is can shaped with a squared handle. The saucer is deep, without a well. Both pieces are expertly hand painted with sprays of garden variety flowers you will recognize...

18th to early 19th century iron Japanese sword tsuba worked in low relief with a scene of a boy trying to scare an alert tiger. The subject is a legend of Yoko - one of the paragons of filial virtue. Yoko accompanied his father in the mountains, where a tiger sprang upon them. The boy jumped in front of his father, who was thus saved, but the boy was killed by the beast. An English Georgian Sterling Toddy or Punch Ladle with a Coin from the Reign of George II in the Center of the Bowl. There is a Half Spiral Twist Baleen (Whalebone) Handle, with a Silver Tip at the End. The Coin is dated 1757, but the Bowl is unmarked, common for such items. Dimension; 14.5" in length.
