Antique Japanese Red Raku Tea Bowl (Chawan) made by Waraku during Meiji period (1868-1912).

Made in Utsushi (ship design) style, its shape resembles the famous Seppo bowl, an important cultural asset, made by Honami Koetsu which is located in the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Art in Tokyo.

Waraku started producing Raku wares around 1830 in Kyoto and now Motoo Kawasaki is the 8th generation of Waraku.

Egyptian Faience Blue and Green Floral Amulet 1,9 cm

Faience is a glazed ceramic known for producing bright colours, especially blues, turquoises and greens. It is produced from quartz or sand crystals mixed with other compounds and can be cast into moulds to create beads or amulets like these ones. A simple, small but stout iron tsuba. The Myochin line of metal workers were armor makers who also produced tsuba. The simple decoration upper-right here could be a flower head or a snowflake. Udenuki-ana appear lower left. Good condition. Height 2 3/4 inches (69 cm), Width 2 9/16 inches (65 cm), and 6/32 of an inche (5 mm) thick.
