Burmese Shan style Buddha, the slender figure with a triangular face and broad forehead, arching eyebrows, elongated ears, and small hair curls covering a low ushnisha that is surmounted by a bud-shaped finial. The red lacquered wood figure with gilt highlights is seated on a waisted lotus throne plinth with relief deer carvings in bhurmisparsa mudra (“calling the earth to witness”). A lovely pair of white paste earrings closed back set in silver gilt. Approximately 18 MM or .7 inches in width, these well scaled earrings can be dressed up or down. Made of "paste", a special glass and lead formula originating from George Ravenscroft, a London glassmaker, during the 17th century and perfected by a French jeweler Georges Strass in the 18th century. Each "paste" was handcarved to fit the setting. Paste has become very collectible and desirable and can no longer be made today...

These offering stands were used in Korea on a family altar to elevate offering to worship ones ancestors. These stands were owned by poor people and farmers, and they are good examples of Korean folk art. The largest stand is about 6" in diameter, followed by one at 5 1/2" and the other at 4 3/4". All of them show spur marks and grit where they were stacked for firing in a large kiln. They are all in good condition with no damage. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A Japanese kiseru made of brass with silver colored rings, bowl and mouth piece. It is further decorated with a boy and comical looking tiger in overlay silver and engravings of pine trees. The pipe measures 9 1/2" long which includes the bamboo extension. The pipe is from the Meiji period (1868-1912). The Pipe is in good condition with some small scratches and dents from use. 18th to 19th century Japanese sword set of fuchi (bordering piece between the sword guard and the handle) and kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with relief decoration of multiple monkeys pulling a rope tied to a huge branch with fruit, all on finely punched ground texture called nanako, which means “fish-eggs” as it resembles fine rows of caviar. Excellent quality multimetal work, gilding, overall in excellent condition...

A finely carved Chinese boxwood statue of the Tang poet Li Bai. Dressed in official attire with a scroll in his right hand, Li Bai appears to be deep in thought as he strokes his beard. Attached to a wooden base, it measures 9.5 inches high as pictured. Base measures 3.5” square. Condition is excellent. Dates circa 1900.

A small Indian deity cast in bronze with a high copper content, depicting an athletic male deity sitting on a lotus throne holding his hands in anjali mudra and holding a kind of hack. Condition: signs of worshipping, base slightly bent, one underarm with a crack. Dimension: 6.5 cm high.

Pair Japanese Bronze Candlesticks, with complete set of Utensils, 2 covered pots and 2 pairs of tweezers, Ca. 1920, 25 1/2" high, 10" diameter for base with open cut design around gallery trim, hanging hook for tweezers, some old waxes are still remain caused some green color of oxidation on the round base.

Late 18th to early 19th century staghorn netsuke of a rat lounging on a large abalone shell, and a small snail shell that attached itself to the larger one. Clever design utilizing natural texture of the material, nicely carved, eyes are inlaid with black horn, beautiful wear and patina from 200 years of handling. Length 2 1/8 inches.

This high standard compote is of extra generous size to show off its many virtues. The bowl is McKee and Brothers (1853-99) Shell pattern also known as Fans with Diamonds. It would date to c. 1880.

The ring of the lid and its weight indicate lead or flint...

Fantastic piece perfectly broken showing half of a warriors geometric painted face in red and white with extensive black dendrite deposits. The mask made of a polychromed stucco burnished finish.
