This document is an exceptionally rare piece of historical ephemera in that it is the actual, formal and legal lawsuit filed by slave owner, Esther Miller, along with 25 other named male citizens of Decatur County, Georgia, against one Cader Powell for the "offense of beating, whipping, and assaulting a slave without sufficient provocation."

Cast iron standing horse doorstop by Hubley, #345. Circa 1930s. Unmarked. This horse retains almost all of its original dappled grey painted surface. The figure is well modelled with wonderful detailing of the anatomical features. Excellent condition, some minor wear along the top of the neck and on one side of the horse. Size: 12" length x 10.5" height.

Offered is a wonderful 19th century, antique, papier mache and wooden black mammy doll manufactured during the late 1800s. The doll has no markings to indicate the manufacturer, but it features a papier mache head with a wooden torso, arms, and legs. The face is hand-painted with wonderful detail, and it includes all of its original clothing which consists of a dress, apron, and kerchief. Overall the doll stands a diminutive 5 1/2" tall.

This champagne bucket is truly a unique find. Shaped like a wine glass, we've never seen one in this exact design before. It has a good weight to it, silverplate over brass. Circa 1960's. Measures 13-3/4" tall, 8-1/2" diameter at top, 7-1/4" diameter at the base.

The advertising card measures 2.75 inches x 4.50 inches and is entitled "Photography Under a Cloud". It features a fabulous litho of 5 African-American boys with exaggerated facial features who are attempting to take a photograph using an early camera. Totally Awesome Louis Vuitton men's briefcase in Monogram fabric, circa 1980's. Discontinued model. This briefcase shows almost no wear at all. It does have the date code stamped on the interior 878CO (or 873CO), the third number is hard to make out. Great for the busy business person. Case measures 16 1/2 inches (42 cm) long by 13 inches (33 cm) wide and is 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm) deep. Comes from a non-smoking home.
