A rare art deco shallow bowl by the designer Wilhelm Kage (1889-1960) who trained under Henri Matisse. This item was probably produced during the 1940s as part of the "Argenta" range by Gustavsberg, Sweden. Condition -there is surface wear to the silver overlay and there is a chip next to one of the handles and associated light hairline (please see enlargements 6 and 7). 23.5cm (9.25 inches)diameter.

A rare Staffordshire "Prattware" tea caddy, unusually with original cover. On each side are moulded caricatures of Georgian "society" figures with their servants/attendants. This item was made during the last quarter of the 18th Century, circa 1780-1790. Condition - there are chips to the under side of the cover and the finial has been re-glued. There are some minor surface glaze losses to the edges and the figures. There are no cracks and there has been no restoration. 6.5 inches (16.5cm) high
