Rare and beautiful Fred Davis chevron bracelet.This bracelet is featured on page 27 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk. They date this bracelet c.1930. The bracelet measures 7 1/2" end to end and is 1 1/8" wide. It is in fine original condition with a secure push in clasp and weighs 44 grams. It is signed for Fred Davis as shown in the photo. All of the work of Fred Davis is very desirable and collectible as it is very difficult to come by. A beautiful example of his work.

This is an unusual design in a Matl bracelet properly hallmarked for the early part of Matilde Poulat's career. This treasure is 6.5 in. long and 1.25in. tall. The coral frames the amethyst giving it an elegant presence.The bracelet has a natural patina and has been very well cared for. The amethyst are clear with no damage. The weight is 52 grams.

SOLD, price info not available. c 1940 Billy Goat Figural Pin Brooch with primitive but effective wide "C" catch marked "Mexico Silver" and a long tailed bird maker's mark that looks like a pheasant. The eye and cheek area of the goat seems human like, as if someone had posed for the silversmith! Tests at least 90%, but could be higher. 2.5" X 1.75" and weighs .4 Oz or 13 grams. We have offered today a very early Antonio Pineda repousse brooch signed with his earliest hallmark of AP. The Quetzalcoatl is beautifully done and with no damage. The dimensions are 3in. long and 2 3/8th's tall at highest points. This size is perfect for holding a shawl together on a chilly night. The weight is 26 grams of thick silver. Early William Spratling 980 silver bracelet with the marks dating it 1933-40. Spratling hallmarks can be reviewed on the website www.spratlingsilver.com. Dramatic first design period (1931-46) sterling silver and amethyst necklace designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling(1900-67). The cruciform pendant measures 3 inches long X 2 5/8 inches wide. The attached sterling silver chain measures 19 inches long. The amethyst stones are very deep and vivid in color and in beautiful condition with no chips or cracks. Spratling designed this quite rare AZTEC MASK pin in the 1930's. The pin measures 3 inches across X 1 1/4 inches high & weighs 20 grams. The WS hallmarks on the pin date the piece to the 1930's. In the 1940's Spratling added additional elements to this design as pictured on Phyllis Goddards' site spratlingsilver.com. Please see the photo of the later design from Goddard's site for comparison. The piece is in great condition. The safety on the pin back is in fine working order.

Gorgeous & rare this sterling silver & amethyst necklace was designed & signed c.1930's by Abraham Paz. Necklace has a 16 1/4" wearable length. Together the cabs & teardrop stones give the necklace a 1 1/2" width. Weight is 101 grams. Hallmarked AP STERLING MEXICO. All 36 stones are in beautiful condition. Besides his own signed designs Paz also made jewelry for Fred Davis during their time at Sanborn's in Mexico City. Designs carrying the AP hallmark are seldom seen on the market.

Today we have a very rare, old pair of Matl, Matilde Poulat cufflinks that are with no damage. The coral has mellowed with age to an orange / red. The center stone is faceted amethyst and being very clear, high quality which Matilde Poulat used in her beginnings of Taller Matl. You can see sparkles reflecting from the facets but I can assure you they are not cracked just hard to photograph. Each coral stone is seated beautifully and firmly in their mountings...

A superb three dimensional sterling and amethyst hinged cuff by Taxco silversmith Margot De Taxco. A bracelet in constant motion with curling and swirling forms edged in silver beading and 8 teardrop shaped cabachon amethysts budding forth from silver stems. It is exquisite in every way and a Margot piece that I have never seen before. It is 3 3/4" long in the front and 7" around in the inside. Monumental and rare this vintage sterling silver & amethyst bracelet was designed and signed circa 1930's by Mexico artist Frederick Davis (1880-1961). The bracelet measures 1 3/4" wide X 7" long. Because of the complex construction it would most comfortably fit up to a 6 3/4" wrist. Weight 88 grams, 3.01 oz. Each stone measures 3/4" across. We have a superb pair of early hallmarked Matilde Poulat earrings with red coral eyes. The size is large with a height of 1.5 in. tall and at the widest point it is 1 inch. The weight is a heavy 12 grams. The repousse is without damage and shows the dimension with a life like feeling. These are museum and collector quality.

Measuring 19 1/2" long this stunning piece was designed by Frederick Davis c.1930-40's. The necklace weighs 75 grams and is comprised of jade beads and hand tooled silver balls of graduated size. The largest silver ball is 1/2". The largest jade beads are 3/4" long. The silver balls appear not to have been polished for decades and the patina is gorgeous. We are offering a monumental Matl necklace from Matilde Poulat's earliest work. Finger coral outlines the design which has warmed with age to an orangish red.
