A rare, amazing sterling and azur-malachite pin c. 1940 by William Spratling. Whichever way you turn this pin, there is an owl looking at you. An accomplished member of the Mexico City school of repoussage, maestro M. Velazquez was a contemporary of Matilde Poulat's and many of his designs are actually based on Matl's originals. The level of craftsmanship and the quality of his work have contributed to his becoming increasingly sought after by collectors, especially with the high prices Poulat's creations realize. This is a signed Hector Aguilar Necklace that is hard to find design. The color is a fascinating white as the silver is almost pure. The link is 1 1/8th inches tall and displays a hand chased crescent moon in each link. The depth of the chasing and cut out crescent give great dimension in your hands and when worn. A beautiful Mexican Silver Palomas y Rosas necklace signed by Ricardo Salas Poulat in stamp and engraving is one of the breathtaking designs from the Matl Taller. The repousse is beautifully carved on the tops giving greater detail to the large puffed links. The rose drop is 2 3/4's inches tall and the birds are 1 7/8th's in. at the tallest point. This lovely pair of handmade silver earrings designed by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar measure 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" and weigh 21 grams. Each earring is accented with a turquoise cab. Created in Frank Patania's Thunderbird shop, this box is a beautiful example of handmade Zuni art. Measuring 4 1/4" X 3 1/4" X 3/4" the piece weighs 166 grams. Carved onyx, turquoise and mother of pearl are inlaid in a silver frame to form the dragonfly. The bold hinge design is often seen on Frank Patania boxes. They work smoothly. Executed in 970 silver, the clover shaped pendant features a center cross surrounded by four onyx arcs, and hangs on a velvet cord tipped with silver balls. A thick, solid, and heavy piece, exquisitely crafted and collector quality.
