Bearing a combination of hallmarks that dates it around 1939 this William Spratling ring is wrought in high purity .980 silver and has developed the most amazing patina during its long and - I am sure - happy life. According to Goddard, Spratling used to refer to this design as the "crowned pyramid", an appellation that makes more sense if one looks at the matching bracelet from above as it lays on a flat surface...

Bold and striking vintage Georg Jensen Denmark "Splash" bracelet no. 88 designed by Henning Koppel. This is a thick and heavy bracelet measuring 7 1/2" end to end, 1 1/2" wide and weighing 94 grams. Because of the thickness of the silver, the wearable length of the bracelet closed is approximately 7". It is in fine original condition and signed as shown. Mid-century Danish design at its' very best.

Today we have a very rare, old pair of Matl, Matilde Poulat cufflinks that are with no damage. The coral has mellowed with age to an orange / red. The center stone is faceted amethyst and being very clear, high quality which Matilde Poulat used in her beginnings of Taller Matl. You can see sparkles reflecting from the facets but I can assure you they are not cracked just hard to photograph. Each coral stone is seated beautifully and firmly in their mountings...

This sleek, modernist and eye catching brooch was designed in the 1940-50's by artist Valentin Vidauretta during his time at Hector Aguilar's Taller Borda in Taxco, Mexico. Signed Valentin jewelry designs rarely turn up. The pin measures 2 1/4" across X 1 1/4" high. Both stones & silver are in beautiful condition as is the pin back and safety lock. This vintage hand-forged tie bar & belt buckle were designed by Hector Aguilar c. 1940-50's. The buckle measures 1 3/4" X 1 1/2". The money clip/tie bar is 1 3/4" long. Both are in excellent condition and together weigh 45 grams. Each piece carries Aguilar's hallmarks. The buckle is pictured on p. 107 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. Great gift idea!

A rare and exquisite pair of sterling, amethyst and pearl bracelets by Mexican silversmith Carmen Beckmann. Beckmann had a shop in San Miguel deAllende and was active in the 1960's and 1970's. The composition of these bracelets is sophisticated and the work of a highly skilled artist. The rectangles with amethyst and pearl are strung on 2 rows of silver chain alternating between silver circle slides. The pieces all move and end with an invisible push in clasp...

A terrific hand made sterling bracelet of squares by contemporary German born silversmith Agnes Seebass. She apprenticed in the Los Castillo workshop in Taxco and her work was represented in the William Spratling MAESTRO DE PLATA exhibit. Her pieces were featured on page 67 of the catalogue to the exhibit and Marbeth Schon wrote an article about her in the most recent edition of MODERN SILVER magazine in which she pictured this bracelet. It measures 7 1/4" end to end and is 1 1/4" wide...

An early sterling brooch by Mexican silversmith Matilde Poulat who signed her pieces "MATL" beginning in 1934 until her death in 1960. The motifs of this pin- doves and tiny bells- are ones she used often.The doves have coral eyes and the bells have turquoise dangles. This pin measures 2" long and 1 7/8" wide. It is in fine original condition and signed for MATL in two places on the reverse. This is a wonderful and inspired early MATL piece.

Smashing color combination in this stunning sterling ring by Arizona Modernist H. Fred Skaggs. The center highly polished oval cabochon amethyst is surrounded by 7 round highly polished turquoise . Currently a size 5 , this ring could by sized as it is plain silver in the back. The face of the ring measures 5/8" long and 7/8" wide. Circa 1943-1948, the "Armadillo" design was originally created by Valentin Vidaurreta. There are several different versions, both in jewelry and belts. This bracelet has two opposing discs set in the center of a suede strap with a silver buckle closure. The strap is very fine leather, with suede on the outside and smooth leather on the inside. I had an artisan leather craftsman custom make the strap to replace the worn one which was on here.
