Made of iron, silver and gold. The center is showing the Nanzen-ji complex, a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto. Bordered by two beautifully elaborated dragons. The back with engraved ho-o birds and a long inscription, dated to the Taisho period (1917) and maker's seal. Condition: little wear, rim with one tiny blossom centre absent. An extremely rare spouted ewer, the flat base rising to rounded sides, decorated each with incised chrysanthemum blossom and prunus blossom. Covered overall with slightly bluish green Qingpai glaze, unglazed to the rim. This kind of vessels shape first seen on Yuan dynasty with variously type from celadon, qingpai and b/w wares, but it's very rare found and qualified as a museum pieces, also nothing found again to the later period such like Ming and Ching. This antique shield is an artifact from the Dutch War with the Atjeh (now Aceh). In short, the Dutch colonial government considered Indonesia "theirs". The indigenous people, the Atjeh, on the Northern part of Sumatra, disagreed. The war began in 1883 and extended into 1904 when "peace" was declared.
This large war shield, made and carried by an Atjeh warrior, has a double layer of woven Rattan with circles of 6 pointed metal stars and brass pins...

Chinese porcelain plate finely painted in Qianjiang enamels, showing a temple in a hilly landscape. Dated, inscribed and signed Tinghui (apparently Fang Tinghui, active late 19th century). The base with four character mark "Zhushan rui pin". Condition: fine, only gilt rim and blue enamel with little wear. Dimension: diameter: 22.6 cm, 3.8 cm high.
A very rare Ming hair ornament made of four jade goldfish and a cicada held together by gold wiring made up of a butterfly and floral design. It originally had turquoise colored king fish feathers inlaid in the design.It also has the original metal wiring holding it together. Size: H. 5.5cm. W. 5cm. Jades average 2 cm.
Condition: Normal ageing on the metal parts.
