A Turkish tobacco pipe with a long wooden shaft. Both ends of the stem swathed with paper and tombak wire, the middle section with red cloth between two pompons. The bone mouth piece kept by a wooden bead. The pipe bowl made of clay, covered by metal wire, decorated with different colored glass beads. The lid entirely worked in metal wire and glass beads attached by a chain to the bowl. Condition: Traces of usage, some beads missing, cloth with holes...

This is a Song dynasty (960 – 1276 A.D.) Henan splashed bowl in Russet brown colour. It is conical in shape with a flared rim, supported on a very short foot. The centre of the bowl is covered with lustrous black glaze with splashed brown streak radiating from the centre. At the bottom of the bowl, there is minute traces of iridescent silvery colour (pic 3). On the underside, the black glaze flow stopped short of the foot with a thick pool of glaze exposing the greyish buff ware...

Made of red Tophane clay, all pieces with matching impressed decoration, highlighted in gold and silver paint. The bases with an impressed flower. A long silk lampas-woven sash, known as hizam, once worn by a Moroccan bride. The beautiful pattern being reminiscent of the fabled textiles of Moorish Spain. The pattern repeat is changing in the middle of the girdle, the ends are decorated with the auspicious eight-pointed star and the hand of Fatima (hamsa). One side with three the other with originally four fringes. Condition: one tear, one fringe missing, traces of usage. Dimension: 221 cm x 21.2 cm without fringes.

Kamishimo has been the Samurai’s official attire in Edo period (1615-1868). It also
became the attire for performers of traditional music and dance, especially in Kabuki theatre during the latter part of the Edo. For rare occasions, it could still be made
for something traditional up to present time.
This Kamishimo is made out of hemp and is beautifully hand sewn. I am not quite
sure of the age and who this belonged to in the past...
A shallow dish, heavily potted, covered in a beautiful celadon glaze producing the crackles of the Geyao type glaze. The recessed base is glazed while the foot rim is dressed with an iron brown wash.
