Rare Chinese Neolithic Pottery Jar - Caiyuan Culture (c. 2600 - 2200 BC)

This attractively-shaped pottery jar was made some 4,000 years ago by peoples of the Caiyuan Culture (c. 2600 - 2200 BC) and has been excavated from the Ningxia Autonomous Region in the north of China. It is finely-potted with thin walls and the pottery has fired to a nice reddish-orange colour. It has a wide body with two loop handles joined at the shoulder and the flared mouth, and a relatively small flat base...

Made of red silk, embroidered in the 'forbidden stitch' with peonies and other flowers in red, yellow and white, lined with gold thread. The tassels bound with gold and silver thread. Dimensions: the pouch 7x6 cm, the tassels 16 cm.

Thinly potted Chinese famille-rose enamelled 'dragon' cup with a dragon and a bird chasing the flaming pearl. Gilt edged rim. The base with a six character iron-red Daoguang seal mark.

Size: Approximately 6.5 cm high by 8.5 cm diameter

Condition: Good condition, no cracks or chips. Some wear to the enamels and the gilt on the rim.

Age: Late Qing Dynasty to Republic

A pair of famille-rose enameled Peking glass tea bowls, painted with birds. One cup has 3 birds on a flowering plum rose branch. The second cup has 3 cranes by a rivers edge. Painted all around. The bases with four character Qianlong marks in over-glaze blue.

Size: Approximately 5 cm high by 8.5 cm diameter

Condition: Good, no cracks or chips

Age: Republic

A Chinese 'famille rose' porcelain cup, painted with a pavilion entrance beside a river. On the reverse a poem in black with a red seal mark. The top rim is edged in gilt.

Size: Approximately 2.5 " high by 3.5" diameter.

Age: Qing Dynasty 19th century

Condition: Very good condition, no breaks or cracks. Some rubbing of the enamels and wear to the gilt.

A fine Qing Dynasty, Tongzhi period (1861-1875) bowl with a unique shape and vivid colors inside and out. Artistic and finely distinct embossed painted design on the exterior of the bowl.

Chinese Qing dynasty export fan densely painted on the front and back with a continuous scene of figures engaged in a variety of activities in indoor and outdoor settings. An elaborate decorative border with gilt edge surrounds the painting. The ribs and guard sticks are finely carved sandalwood. Housed in a fitted reddish-brown lacquered box with custom fitted green silk interior...

Two Chinese porcelain bowls, decorated in blue and white patterns; the exterior with relief dragon and Greek key designs, the interior with figured and dragon patterns with a central facing dragon also done in relief. The base glazed white with the rims left bare. The center has a six character mark surrounded by double circles in under-glaze blue...

Lovely pair of figures in white pottery with remains op pigments. China, Tang Dynasty (618-907). H. 27 cm. Good condition, minor chip to one of the stands. A TL test from Kotalla is included. At our gallery we have ca. 50 pieces of pottery on display.

Qing Dynasty carving of a jade figure. Height of 2 inches.

A doucai tea bowl decorated with six groups of geometric shapes on the outside of the bowl on a white ground. The interior is similarly decorated with a single grouping. The base with a six character under-glaze blue Yongzheng mark surrounded by double blue under-glaze blue circles.

Condition: Very good condition - no breaks or cracks. Some slight wear to the enamels

Age: Late Qing Dynasty to Republic

An unusual jade male dancer with his legs twirling around each other, one arm on his chest the other straight down on his side. Most of the color of the jade is gone except for some remnants of the original jade still remaining. I have strung him to be worn as a pendent. Age: Han Dynasty. Size:5.4cm. Condition: No repairs.

A carved White Jade Gourd from the Qing Dynasty.

A Beautifully carved tube shaped jade. It is hard to date this piece and say that it is from the Hongshan period (3000BC). It is most likely from a later period as these item are extremely rare. It is not know what these were used for but it is thought to be for the hair ornament to hold the pony tail. Size: See Last photo

Fourteen rare multi-colored glass Han beads that can be used as a bracelet or necklace. Size:Between 2cm to 2.2cm each. Condition: All intact. Needs some cleaning from long burial.
