Pretty and old mushroom mask, with a shiny black patina. These mask are made from tree parasit mushroom with a minimal carving work . The aime of the carvers is to take advantage of the native form of the mushroom These masks are usually hung inside homes to function as protective effigies. At least two stories are forwarded to describe this ritual phurba -1 they are as protector of crops stored in granaries. 2- they are used during funerals , the bird is supposed to take away the souls of dead people during cremation or other burial ceremonies These type of phurba seems peculiar to Gurung priests or shamans. Important soot patina indicative of an important age , at least early to mid 20th. H 28 cm ,
This is a great archetype of ghurra, showing an interlace of ropes which local name is netti, so in some areas "Netti" becomes the generic name for Ghurras. This ghurra demonstrates a great carving achievement with incredible signs of use. H25 cm wide 8 cm , thickness 5.5 cm

A pair old jewelry ornaments attached in the coiffure, near the ears by Tibetan women. Made of metal alloy and set with turquoise stones. The reverse with a later added silver stick pin. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: c. 9.9 cm long x 3.9 cm wide, weight: 66 g.

This mask was made using a milk pot fragment, the noose has been added. A superb old black soot patina both inside and out side indicate a long use at least from early mid 20th.

Mask combining a rough appearance with a minimal shape, the orifices of the eyes and mouth are rather square in shape, there are small ears on the sides. Beautiful black soot patina with traces of glue, very hard wood H 25 cm x 20 cm.
