These 6 barefoot maidens are elaborately costumed in traditional ethnographic clothing lots of bangles with bangles, and each is playing a different instrument. They stand approximately 8-9 inches tall. a few are missing a bangle and a few have very small dents in the metal work...metal is assumed to be very low grade silver tin combination. Decorative dolls such as these were made as a traditional folk art in India for a couple of centuries...

Rectangular composite panel of antique embroideries from the Ottoman Empire. The basic fabrics are different plain weaves, embroidered with silk and few metal wrapped threads, composed and sewn together in the Ottoman city of Salonika or Kavala. A hexagonal miniature table brass box, decorated with interlacing patterns, tendrils and Islamic calligraphy inscriptions, inlaid in silver and copper. With hinged lid and a small locking clasp, the interior with wood lining, mother-of-pearl and bone inlays. Condition: bottom of the lining lost. Dimension: 20.5 cm high.

A pair woman's festive leggings from Sana'a, Yemen. The upper part is brocade with boteh pattern in gold wrapped silk threads and the lower part with couched silver wrapped threads forming stars. Measuring 6" in diameter and 2 3/8" high, this Nishapur polychromed bowl dates to the 9th to 11th centuries, and is buff ware ceramic with decoration in magenta, yellow and green. The central image features a peacock with elaborate tail, and the border around the edge is abstracted, with a resemblance to calligraphic writing. The exterior of the bowl features vertical lines in magenta, with interspersed sections of yellow and green...
