Description:

A small Junyao cup was well glazed on the surface.
The thick glaze was rolling down on the outer surface and stopped in half way to reveal the rough-feel body clay.
Obvious circular molding scars were left on the body clay when the foot ring was well shaped and stand in somewhat everted angle.
Crackles and incursions to the glaze were observed for easy verification.
One small splash of purplish tint was yielded in the cavetto...

This carved wooden dragon head and RuYi symbol is from an old Buddhist temple monastery in Inner Mongolia, a region that is now part of China. This piece was probably used to stablize joint between a support post and a rafter beam. Hand carved from teak wood, both sides have the same dragon head at one end and the ruyi form at other end which images as the dragons tail.

The carving is 32 inches long, 3 inches thick and is 9 inches high...

Large 19th Century Japanese Gilt Bronze Shishi Play Ball Censer

The shishi is 13 inches tall, and 16 inches in length.

It is in good condition with no repairs, nor chips, except a hairline crack at the tail (did not go all the way through - as seen in the photos). The writing indicated that this was a house warming gift from the Susuki family).
