This tall and impressive pottery figure was made during the early Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a fairly high-fired pale greyish-brown pottery. It has been "cold-painted" in a base coat of creamy-white pigment with details picked out on top in red and black pigments, especially to the head and face.

This hand made beater board was used with an old backstrap loop by one of the hill tribes of northern Thailand. Now, as a folk art tool from another culture, it is an authentic ethnographic artifact and is also an interesting piece of sculpture.

Well applied on the surface with greenish glaze, the bowl was decorated in the cavetto with carved motifs of three playing babies among scrolling flowers.
These were characteristic motifs for the dated periods.

A very rare found of Celadon pear shaped ewer, slight thickly well potted, decorated to the body with divided into six panels and incised with Ruyi pattern to each panel, further is plain and covered overall with bluish green glaze. Possibly Song dynasty Yue wares or Longquan wares. Condition with two flake chips to rim, one on the front side and the other to back side, also two hairlines appears, further like the body in perfect condition. High: 25,5cm and wide maximum: 22cm
