This is a set of small but very unique Keshi bina musician dolls or they may be called as Kawari bina (different or strange looking). By placing them casually, you can create an interesting group. Description: An adorned wood female lion was carved in Ming dynasty. Stepping on a cup who lies upward, this lion grinned fiercely. She should had been paired with a male lion who stepping on a scroll ball and all were placed before a shrine as guarding beasts. It is an exact example of Ming lion and of an 400 years old wood piece for dating. Material: Camphor Wood. A beautifully written tea room scroll by 19th century calligraphist and seer/soothsayer Yokoyama Marumitsu (1780-1854) bordered in pale green brocade and featuring bone rollers. The calligraphy is very expressive, dark lines varying dramatically in width as they curl down the wide sheet. The signature line reads A 72 year old man Kiosanjin Marumitsu making the scroll date to 1851 by Japanese age count(Kiosanjin was one of his many literary names)...

Description: A gilt-bronze Buddha figure was casted in 10th-12th century at northern China. Small but delicately carved with good quality bronze , this item has dark shining patina which yields the enduring age. The typical facial expression of Liao Dynasty further makes us to believe the date is for sure. The last picture shown is a grand piece from Shang-hai Museum of China.
