A Cizhou Cut-Glaze stem censer was found in a rare form and was preserved in perfect condition.
The glaze on the surface was in subdued gloss when slight abrasions were found on the rims.
At the bottom, in the hole of the stem foot, the rough-feel body clay was revealed with grayish tint when manually maneuvered scraping scars were found obviously.
It was a very rare piece in unique form and in such good condition...
This vase has splayed foot, a bulbous body, a straight neck and a deepply foliated mouth with everted lip. The main body of the piece is decorated with a densely moulded floral design. Incised around the neck are stylised plantain leaves, a motive which becomes integral to the decorative sryle of qingbai. The piece is covered with white translucent glaze except for the base, which is unglazed.

This unusual porcelain bowl has a defined rim, sides and foot detailed to appear like a woven basket and then painted in the Ao-Kutani palette with green, aubergine and yellow enamels. The inside enameled yellow and with centered green and aubergine enamel fahua decoration of a Shishi dog with ball among flames within a cloudband border. This old Chinese toggle would have been used for ornamentation on the costumes of both Han and ethnic minority Chinese. The toggle would be sewn on a jacket or hooked onto a belt. Low grade silver was used extensively in China for jewelry and ornaments during the late 19th century.
