We are offering a monumental Matl necklace from Matilde Poulat's earliest work. Finger coral outlines the design which has warmed with age to an orangish red. There are also coral cabochons lined on the bottom rung. The amethyst and turquoise center stones make up the flowers in the vase. The stones are clear and have cut out backs to let light in. Truly lovely stones of higher quality than one's of her later works. Hallmarked as shown and in exceptional condition...

This antique gau would have been worn around the neck of a Tibetan woman during festivals.
The gau front and side surfaces are decorated with ornate wire work and the front has small beads of turquoise, coral and Lapis. Matilde Poulat was known for her reliquary silver work. She made beautiful crosses with ornate chain and statues adorned with stones. This cross and chain necklace has the block letters MATL on both the chain and the cross center piece. The chain measures 21 in. long with the drop being 2 1/8th inches tall.
