Haskell's sparkling amber colored glass beads of various shapes combine with two shades of amber rhinestones and clear rhinestones. All prong set. Miriam Haskell stamped on back of flower clasp. From the CongJiang in Gui Zhou province, this drinking horn is carved from water buffalo. It is a thick (and heavier weighted horn) which, according to my Miao friends is considered an inferior horn. So, this piece would have been owned by a "Poorer" family. It is wonderful primitive art object with carvings that are full of symbols reflecting Miao culture and legends. A fine white-tinted shallow bowl was in perfect condition.
In characteristic Dingyao milky-white glaze, the bowl owned the also white-tinted body clay which in characteristic tense and greasy feel quality.
Incursions had happened to the rims and on the surface.
It is very rare to find a real Ding ware in such obvious characteristic condition.
It is a small piece but can be a very good proof.
