This is an extraordinary sterling bird pin/pendant by Salvador Teran. It is a magnificent example of his fascination with overlapping planes. It is in fine original condition, weighs 26 grams, and hallmarked and numbered as shown. It is a remarkable example of this artists' imagination and creativity.

Based on Margot de Taxco's and the Los Castillo's "Koi Fish" parures, a repousse by-pass ring from the 1950s-60s made by one of Taxco's still unidentified maestros. I admire these miniature masterpieces - they mimic the clamper bracelets of their respective designs yet with the small size, pose a real challenge to the silversmith who has to reproduce amazing detail in such small proportions. The ring here is currently a comfortable size 7.75 but can be adjusted upwards...

Description:

A charming pebble jade carving of a tiger, cat or Huan was masterly done.
Crouching with her head resting on her front paws, she raised her left leg tickling the cheek when the long tail curling tightly to the side.
The fluent lineation work and excellent carving skill depicted the cat in a vivid way...

Vintage assembled set of Antonio Pineda bracelets in a mod, minimalist design that features deeply carved semi-spheres out of each bangle's perimeter, with the empty areas oxidized to add drama to an otherwise simple form. I am very partial to sets of bangles and this pair wears comfortably with its discrete musicality reminding you of its presence. The bangles have an inner circumference of 8" and their width is 1/4"...

You could not believe how fabulous this piece looks with a scoop neck black dress. You can adjust the 20 inches of chain to what ever length you wish and the chain is also huge and hand made giving it a distinct presence. The sections of the pectoral have a hammered raw look to the sterling. The weight is 161 grams. The drop is an overall 5in. from center and the 3 sections are not that heavy so it is really comfortable. The smallest one is 4.5 x1.75, next is 5 x 1.75in...

The most fun Sigi Pineda earrings I have ever had, this set is in fact the first in a series of three pairs I will be presenting, all in the same design vein. Quirky and definitely playful, the figures look as if springing out of a child's sketch book. Human? Penguin? A combination of the two? Whatever the case, they are striking, rendered in silver and opaque black oxidation, a surrealist representation of wearable bipeds...

The primary designer for Rancho Alegre, Miguel Martinez is a maestro whose work I have come to value for its imaginative design, superb quality and extremely careful finishing. Monumental both in terms of its dimensions but also due to its weight, the cuff at hand is heavy, with thick overlay and oxidation that accentuates its architecturality. A true work of art that combines Taxco's early love for pre-Colombian motifs with Martinez's prowess in silver overlay...

I am very partial to Margot's enamel work, especially her pieces with warm, earthy colors. The bracelet here is one of my favorite designs - round, concave links enameled in brown, taupe, black and white with silver polka dots showing through in an almost yin and yang motif. Perfect for every season but just ideal for fall and winter! In the next to last photo you can see it with the matching earrings that are also available in my inventory...

This handmade pair of Tibetan boots was typically used by the Tibetan Minority groups for centuries. Each regional Tibetan group used its own distinct colored thread design pattern. Monks and officials also could be recognized by the thread design of their boots. These were a "commoners" boot and judging by their size, they were used by a young teenager. I suspect that they were only worn once or twice and they are in wonderful condition. Heel to toe they measure 9" and stand 12" high.
