Description:
A covered box was uniquely decorated on the surface with black iron spots.
The glaze was in bluish celadon tint and was suffused with whitish incursions in portions.
It was preserved in perfect condition.

A 14k crescent moon seed pearls Victorian honeymoon pin brooch from the 1900 era. This late Victorian or early Edwardian 3/4" brooch is simple and elegant and it is stamped 14K. It weighs 1.4 grams and it has had the original c-clasp replaced with a safety clasp. It would make a great gift for your intended or sweetheart and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

An English figural centerpiece epergne with intertwined palm trees and antlered stag, unmarked but possibly by Elkington & Co. Circa 1865. There are three candelabra arms and a fourth central light that converts to hold a glass, trumpet shaped flower vase. Wonderful detailing and in very good overall condition, but with minor solder repairs to several of the fronds, some bent, and with a couple of frond tips missing...

A Japanese lacquered agiro pipe case (kiseruzutsu) finely decorated with a cockerel and hen, signed Shinsen (?). The pouch is tooled leather with iron and silver cockerel and hen inlaid with a gold clasp. The ojime is shaped as Daikoku's mallet in unknown material. The actual color of pipe case is closest to the photo #11. 19th century, late Edo period. Dimensions: Pipe case, 8 1/2 " long, tobacco pouch, 5 1/4 " x 3 "

It is hard to make out the second character of the signature...

This Chinese pipe is from the Miao Ethnic Minority group in the vicinity of Rong Jiang. My Miao friends insist that this pipe would have been used for smoking tobacco and not opium. Made from silver alloy, the stem design has the two dragons chasing the center pearl.

The pipe is in very good condition and is 19" long and it comes with its own custom made stand.

Rookwood Pottery vellum glaze vase adorned with a blue iris against a matt glaze background that shades from dark blue to light blue and finally into peach. Decorated by Caroline Steinle, 1913. Handmade sterling silver pin or brooch designed and signed circa 1930's by American and Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling. Pin measures 2 1/4" X 2". The eagle and serpent design is an integral part of the Mexican flag. The pin is in beautiful condition with no dents, dings or repairs. Excellent aged patina. Pinback and lock work perfectly. Signed on the reverse 980, WS, TAXCO. Featured on Goddard's excellent website spratlingsilver.com.

I have a special affinity for early Mexican silver brooches - the bigger they are, the deeper I fall in love with them and it wasn't difficult to become infatuated with the unusual example offered here. I have not seen this design before and I find its combination of amethyst and hand-cut quartz beads truly stunning. The flower's starburst formation is also unique - a dizzying beauty...

Arts and Crafts movement Roycroft hand hammered copper tray with wrought handles. Size: 15 1/2 inches diameter x 17 3/4 inches across the handles. Stamped with Roycroft logo on underside for c.1906-1910 period. Inspired by the socialist writings and designs of John Ruskin and William Morris in England, Elbert Hubbard founded, in 1894, the Roycroft artisan community in East Aurora, New York, as part of the American Arts and Crafts Movement...

Hallmarked with Bernice Goodspeed's initial B and an unexpected style for one of the Women of Taxco to produce. These stones are stunning and have warmed over time. The necklace is 19in. long and .75in. at it's widest point. The drop with a Victorian style is 2.25in. tall. The silhouette is rich and this is very thick silver displaying quality through and through. Sometimes less is more, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Brass inlay in wood, by Erhard & Sohne of Germany, this round biscuit box (also described as a humidor) is one of the finest of this genre made by E & S. The figural design inlaid into the wood is delightful, and other Secessionist motifs further enhance the richness of this form. The design depicts 20 figures of young boys marching around the base, most with a variety of instruments, with one small child pulling a wagon...

Large Japanese Meiji period rounded square form black lacquered wood deep tray decorated in gold and polychrome accents with three birds among flowers and bamboo above a stream at the bottom. The rim is gold. 14 3/4" square with a lip nearly 2 1/4" high. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition with only a few fine scratches on the back and a few tiny dings on the top edge. From the collection of a Japanese woman in Tucson, Arizona.
