A stunning Suzuri bako covered in gold lacquer and minutely detailed with scenes of the 53 stations of the Tokaido. Mountains and ocean views, famous temples and castles are all populated by travelers in various shades and degrees of gold. It is decorated inside entirely with fronds over gold nashiji. A superb work of art that would have taken months or perhaps even years to complete. The box measures 33 x 25 x 14 cm (13 x 10 x 6 inches) and is in overall fine condition...

A long bamboo incense case with dark wood lid carved exquisitely with blossoming lotus and calligraphy. The deteriorating leaves rise from the bottom, blossoms spreading their petals to the sun. Above three lines of calligraphy descend to meet like the squirreling rays of late summer light. The piece is 20-1/2 inches (51.5 cm) long and in perfect condition, enclosed in a cloth sack and kiri-wood box...

Charger covered with green glaze; Firing ring burnt red on the bas. PERIOD : Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 29 cm wide. CONDITION: a chip to the rim, spot of firing fault, no cracks, hairlines and free from restoratioan. Good sound when tapping by finger.

Description:

A Jizhou tea bowl was applied with dark brown nearing black glaze on the surface.
Uniquely and characteristically, a leaf motif was decorated on the surface.
By greasy-feel quality of the characteristic Jizhou glaze, the surface was covered with slight burial adhesives when subtle crackles were rendered in the glaze underneath.
By also convincing look of the body clay which revealed at the bottom in soft quality, the foot ring was surrounded by shallow wall...

Bright colors decorate this life-like set of Porcelain Okimono in the style of Chinese fruit by Suwa Sozan (no box). This set dates to 1931 and is published in the book Suwa Sozan Sakuhin Shu (1971), p. 85. A bursting pomegranate, Persimmon, Bunch of Grapes and Buddhas Hand, with a fifth piece, a fig, missing from the set. Please note there are a few chips in the edges of the leaves of the fruit (circled in the photos). Each piece is roughly life-size the Buddhas hand is 15 cm (6 inches) long...

The perfect size for that not too large room. Louis Vuitton suitcase trunk fitted to a custom hand-made base. The base is maple with a hand stained custom blended matching finish. The case itself, we're guessing, dates to around the 1930's, and is in great vintage condition, showing minor signs of travel wear. Fit the top with a piece of glass or use it without for extra storage...

A vertical corduroy wall hanging textile, the velvet partially cut and painted with ink and colors. Naturalistic depiction of five tigers in a forest landscape. Brocade border, floral patterned lining with hanging loops. Signed and sealed in lower right corner. Condition: fine, one small stain. Dimension with border: 242 cm x 175 cm.

Elaborate large head ornament featuring pumpkins, a butterfly and a cicada moth. Made of metal and cardboard covered with two shades of kingfisher feathers and red and green enamel. Condition: few losses of feathers. Dimension: 18 cm wide, 17 cm high.

Three fine 20th century Japanese lacquer trays. Each with boats and pine decoration in gold tones upon a dark brown ground. The trays gradually bowed and of square shape but with slightly curved sides and raised on four, shaped feet. 11 1/16" x 11 1/8" (about 28cm square). Reasonably good condition with some light abrading easily enough cared for by a specialist.

Together with another, 19th century tray (bottom portion of a box now missing its cover) with beautiful cranes decoration...

A 14k sapphire doublet and seed pearls pierced drop earrings circa 1890. They are unmarked but have been tested. These antique yellow gold feature 20 point claw-set sapphire doublets (man made synthetic stones) surrounded by genuine seed pearls; the hoops are the hinged back design and they have a tab and slot style catch. They weigh 2.1 grams, and they are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

SOLD. All metal is sterling. Mother nature gets credit for the yummy blue coral, the silver is USA mined and the bracelet was designed, carefully assembled by and signed: Sterling Mimi Dee in a USA studio. A small blue lace agate was added to the 1 1/2" charm. All metal is precious (never is plated cable used here!)and is carefully shaped through each bead to deter against loss. Both this metal and the coral's value keeps going up. The latter due to conservationists' continued restrictions...
