Measuring 7" high, and approximately 4" at the widest point of the body, this ceramic jar dates to the 17th century of the Safavid Empire, which was located in what is now Iran. The glaze is very heavy and is decorated with underglaze blue, and has areas of greenish tint, seen primarily at the shoulder and on the bottom. there are areas where brown pigments are visible in the glaze, also visible in photos. Decorated on four sides with open-work structure, the wood stand was framed on the surface with rice-white marble slab.
The stand was in firm and sound condition with only minute fret at the feet due to use.
