Collector wrote, 'this is the biggest saphiret in my collection'. This is indeed an important pin in that this has the boldest largest faceted Saphiret art glass stone on the web! This desirable bi color faceted stone measures just under 1 1/2" or 40mm across! The pin itself measures 2 1/8" across. The stone is so big that it could be cut down to make several good size ones.

Of heavy, dense exotic wood and inlaid with carved shell pieces, this ceremonial staff is from the Solomon Islands, pre 1950s. The form is better than most, having a figural image at the top, well carved with open legs and good detail. The carving depicts a figure with folded arms, slightly bent knees, and a stylized face seen in Solomon Islands iconography. The figural section measures 13 1/4" high. Very nice dark patina, with a lovely slightly glossy surface, some pieces of inlay missing...

This is an Enrique Ledesma work of art. He was known for his stone work and this is a beautiful azurmalachite necklace that has a weight of 70 grams and is 1.25in. at the highest point on the drop. No dents, repairs, or damage but there is glare. It was difficult to show the gorgeous color in these stones, so I have tried to show them in different light. They are natural and have matrix running through the stones as they turn color from blue to green, with browns and gold hues as well...

These hand done lamp-worked beads are probably Indian in origin, and they most likely are old, perhaps quite old. The workmanship is superb. The brass and glass compliment each other and they are enhanced by the jewel-like work on the round and elongated beads on the fringe. Very dramatic when worn. The choker is 13 1/2" around with a 1 3/4" extension, and is 1 5/8" wide...

A mystery maker for me - though listed by Bille Hougart in his book on Mexican silver hallmarks (see p. 249) - it is Taller Taxco that signs this modernist pendant necklace, obviously based on a rather rare to find Salvador Teran design. Large and imposing, masterfully crafted, the pendant is shaped like a squatting pre-Colombian figure with his hands closed around a big, tumbled blue stone with green undertones and some matrix showing on the side (maybe blue chrysoprase?)...
