We are offering a very old Silver Mexico repousse necklace of a generous size at 4.25in. across and 3in. tall at the drop. There is at least 16 inches of wearable length. A very intriguing workshop, Taller Taxco's jewelry are all emulations of Teran's designs - and of very high quality at that. Though there is suspicion of a relationship between the two, nothing has been proven until today yet it's indisputable that the pair at hand comes very close to Teran's work...

World War II era Hamilton Navigator's chronograph watch, Model 23, housed in an original U.S. Army metal canister carrying case with round viewing window, manufactured by George H. Adamson, of Tecumseh, Michigan. Circa 1942-1943. This watch was used by the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigation watch and bomb timer. One of my most favorite "less celebrated" maestros of Mexico's 20th c. Silver Renaissance, AEM is also referred to as "the Heart" artist because he signs his initials "AE" in a heart-shaped "M". Though we know that he had worked for Estela Popowski and Rancho Alegre, his identity remains elusive to this day...

A very unusual, early Deco Mexican silver and faux tortoise shell demi comprised of a necklace and matching dangle teardrop earrings. There is an intense Spanish Colonial feel about this set and, if I may say so, a distinct regal air too. Each link is carefully inlaid with a silver peacock perched on a branch and the birds of the central medallion and the earring dangles are adorned with shimmering abalone shell. A wonderful ethnographic folk art object, this style of farm animal bell has been used in Thailand for centuries. Hand carved from wood by the herder and tied around the animals neck this traditional bell is hinged (or pegged) in 2 places to allow for a gentle knocking sound. This one was used for a goat and has remnants of the original hand made rope.

An old silver alloy offering vessel of oblong form, the outside repoussed with two monster masks among scrolls. Base with chiselled symbol. According to Urs Ramseyer in "The Art and Culture of Bali", these bowls were dignity symbols of the Balinese gentry, filled with betel accessories. Condition: few traces of usage. Big and beautifully aged this floral sterling silver Hector Aguilar brooch is representative of the 1940s' love affair with all motifs from nature. The flower is here layered, with deep hand-chased details in the petals and foliage, a strong curving stem and cluster of small beads right at its center. I love the way the bloom is wide open, its face turned to the sun, taking in light and heat and turning it to color, aromas and beauty for our visual enjoyment...
