A magnificent and seldom found set of Ao or Blue-Bizen Tokkuri Sake decanters dating from the Edo period enclosed in an ancient kiri-wood box. The hand-turned pieces are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. The undecorated clay of each pinched vessel is an unusual shade of blue/gray, thus the name. Each piece measures roughly 6 inches (15 cm) tall. An exceptional and highly sought after addition to a collection of Japanese ceramics.

Long Chinese Qing dynasty hardwood bench crafted with four panels on the back rest, a curved front apron, and comfortable armrests. 19th century. 74 3/4" long x 29" high (17 1/2" high to seat) x 23" deep (21 1/4" depth of seat). Very sturdy and in very good overall condition. There are some minor separations from our dry Arizona climate. There is a small wood loss and old filled crack at one side of the bottom apron. This pair of Japanese handmade long square cut nails are 5" long and appear to have never been used. The nail heads are solid and shaped into a hemisphere. The silver colored decorative metal escutcheons have scalloped edges and markings to represent a flower. The escutcheons are just under 1" in diameter and have a squared center hole which exactly fits the nail shank.

A Brown glazed Ridgway Pottery Transfer Pitcher, with a Silvered Handle, Rim and Base. It Features "Scenes from Coaching Days and Coaching Ways"; from the Book "Coaching Days and Ways" by W. Outram Tristram and Illustrated by Herbert Railton and Hugh Thomson, published in 1888 by MacMillan in London. The Pitcher is 9.5" high x 4.75" at basem and dates from about 1890. It has a slight scratch on the side (see picture 4), but otherwise is in excellent condition.
