Having justly earned a place in the pantheon of those artists whose work changed the way we design and think about silver jewelry, Matilde Poulat created a whole school of silversmiths who emulated her work not only when she was alive and active but even today, in the so called "post-1980" period of Mexican jewelry making. A fabulous vintage handmade studio modernist bib necklace with black and white glass beads strung on brass wire, and engraved brass leaf or feather form drops at the end of each beaded wire. The overall effect is of a feathered collar. 1970s. Bold and unique and with outstanding impact. Photos do not do justice to this piece. It drapes very nicely and is very easy to wear.

Wearable length is 16 inches. The drops are 3 3/4 inches long. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail.

This unique ring is from the 1960’s with a fox being depicted on a reverse painted carved crystal. The crystal is 9mm diameter. The setting is made of 14Kt yellow gold and decorated by equestrian elements

This authentic locket from the glamorous Victorian era is made of 14 karat yellow gold. It is decorated by a three dimensional applied design with four seed pearls. The locket is in very good condition with some age wear in the form of minor scratches and dents on the back. The original beveled glass is intact in the original frame. The piece measures 1 1/4 inches long and 7/8" across.

Vintage Margot de Taxco sterling silver astrological pendant necklace, this one is for the Leo in your life and like all Margot's zodiac jewelry, sculptural and heavy. I have paired the pendant with a substantial, hand-wrought Mexican chain of the same period and the two look like they always belonged together. The pendant has a diameter of 1 9/18" (not including the bail) and adds a 2" drop to the chain which is itself 30" long (easily adjustable due to the hook clasp)...

Gorgeous sterling clip earrings with tumbled and polished citrine, rose quartz, amethyst, smokey topaz and pink tourmaline by Arizona Modernist H. Fred Skaggs. His pieces are highly collectible and have become more and more rare to find. These earrings measure 1 1/4" by 1 1/8" and are in fine original condition. No chips or cracks to the stones. A rare find to come upon a Hector Aguilar ring - there don't seem to be many available! Yet here it is, an "Old Maguey" piece that would go perfectly with the matching bracelet also currently available in my inventory (see listing no 1097654). Not as massive as the other pieces in the parure, the ring is an easy wear whether for a night out or for your every day in the office. It is currently a size 5.25 but easily re-sizeable, I believe, without fear of damaging the hallmarks...

I love the idea of combination pin/pendants - they make for such versatile jewelry and can prove a mainstay in a lady's jewelry box. A gorgeous example of my favorite Ledesma work this is a pair of earrings that illustrates in the best possible way the maestro's magic touch in the seamless combination of silver and stone. Resembling highly stylized calla lilies, the earrings curve and curl to reach their pointy height. The color of the malachite is saturated and its polished surface just perfect. Each earrings is just shy of 1 1/4" tall by 3/4" wide (at its widest) and the set's weight registers at 11.8 grams...

Wrought in .940 silver and with a big onyx cabochon forming its body, a vintage Hector Aguilar brooch in the shape of a pelican. The combination of repoussage and chasing and the stark contrast between the black depths of the stone and the warmly glowing silver is what makes this piece irresistibly attractive. Measuring 2 3/8" tall by 2 1/8" wide (at its widest) the bird weighs 23.1 grams and is signed with a combination of hallmarks that dates it in the 1953-62 period...

Dramatic sterling silver and champleve enamel necklace and earrings designed and signed circa 1950 by Taxco, Mexico artist Margot Van Voorhies. The Cleopatra head pendant or brooch measures 3" X 2 1/2". The detachable enamel chain is 24" long. Each earring measures 1" long. Beautiful original condition with no enamel loss or wear. The earrings are signed but were converted to pierced by the prior owner...

A striking 5 strand sterling bracelet with chiseled design terminals by Navajo silversmith Johnny Mike Begay who worked at the White Hogan Shop in Scottsdale, AZ. and also worked on his own. The cuff measures 5 1/8" around in the inside plus a 1 1/4" gap. It is 1 5/8" wide in the front and tapers to 1" at the terminals. Fine original condition and signed as shown.

Stunning and rare sterling ring with intricately carved black onyx by Brazilian landscape architect and jeweler Burle Marx in the "forma livre" (free form) style. Burle Marx was particularly known for his use of large gemstones, often fashioned by carving or tumbling rather than being faceted, a technique he invented in 1948. This ring is a size 7 3/4 and may have been sized up at one time but could be sized again. The face measures 1" long and 3/4" wide...

Vintage Chinese silver brooch in the form of a phoenix, the bird's magnificence illustrated with vibrant enamels. This is one of the most attractive pins I have had recently - I also love its size; not tiny nor overwhelmingly big, it can be worn easily even every day. In excellent vintage condition with absolutely no losses in the enamel (just a couple of very tight, short surface cracks here and there) and the vermeil in very good shape as well...

Magnificent white and silver champleve' enamel on sterling necklace and earrings by Margot De Taxco c. 1950. The necklace measures 14 1/2" end to end and the trapezoid shaped links are 1" wide. The necklace is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the enamel and no missing enamel. The earrings have been expertly converted from screwbacks to posts and do retain the Margo hallmark. The enamel has no chips or cracks and none missing.
